We as Americans have a choice to make this coming November. It will be a choice of whether to continue with an inept, arrogant and constitution loather or a new and fresh concept from someone else. In the following article by Thomas Sowell I believe some excellent points can be taken in making a choice from the republican candidates. http://townhall.com/columnists/thomassowell/2011/12/29/republican_voters_choices

I am going to take a stance against you. The only reason Obama was not able to get things done the way he needed to, is because the Republicans in congress stood in his way. I refuse to accept another Republican president until the part as a whole stops acting selfish and entitled. The rich are not the only people that live in this country.

Really? Are you really going there with the bailouts this administration gave to.....yeah the rich car companies who got their companies into financial dire straits due to bad business practices, ie cowering to everything the union said they had to do, and then bailing out the richest people in the country, the bankers. Which party is really for the little guy? Definitely not the Democrats because everything they do is FOR the rich elite and against bringing more business and jobs--good jobs--not burger flipper jobs to this country. By making sure the rich have to pay more than anyone else the Democrats shoot theirselves in the foot because you can't have it both ways.
Again our real problem lies in congress and the way they do business. When we get rid of the lobbyists we may have a chance to get something worthwhile done in Washington but until then it will be business as usual no matter the party. I also don't believe ANY candidate should be able to spen more money than they will make their entire term of office to get elected, ludicrous! Who do they think they are fooling?

By the way Philly, the first two years of his term our illustrious president enjoyed a majority in both houses of congress which is how he rammed Obamacare down America's throat even when over 70% of Americans were strongly against it. I believe if he had not done that he might STILL be enjoying a majority in both houses.

My choice is Newt Gingrich simply because he is firstly the most experienced and secondly he is the only true conservative running. Ron Paul has some serious "way out in left field" issues and Mitt is so close to the left it's hard to call him conservative. The only things that can be said bad about Newt is in his personal life and the Democrats deemed that irrelevant when it came to Obama ie his pastor Jeramiah Wright and then his ties with Mr. Ayers.

Since even Gumby would be a better president than Obama, we would be better off with anyone who chooses to run against him... of any party.

That's funny, since there are people who say that Newt is unelectable, so they want Romney.
For me, I can't think of a single legitimate reason to give Obama another 4 years. All he has accomplished in his first term is making excuses for his failures, spending more money than almost all presidents put together, and denying jobs to Americans who want to work.
The difference between you and me is, if Obama was a Republican then we would both agree he's a dismal failure.

The problem with that Ted is that the front runner right now is the man THEY(the whitehouse) wants to run against because they know they can beat his socks off! Newt on the other hand would present to the present administration a whole new set of problems and he could definitely beat Obama, but Romney, not a chance.

Truthfully I don't trust ANY of the candidates to hold their word after election....why should I, history says that for the most part they won't....especially if it is for the actual good of the nation. On the other hand, I really would like to see Obama voted out. I can't see what he has done, at least not in our area of the nation, to improve the state of the economy, the job market, or much else. Gas prices are rising daily, work is getting harder and harder to find, more people are homeless or living in poverty, and yet he forces a mandate that we are REQUIRED to now buy health insurance. While I am sure that most people would love to have it, many are doing good just to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads, so how exactly are they supposed to afford yet another bill or a fine for not having insurance? And don't tell me to cut off the cable, as many don't even have that!
America needs a savior, which is not likely to show up, because when is the last time that a politician did not do and say whatever they thought would get them elected, and then follow their own personal agenda, irregardless of what it did to the nation, once elected? Face it, America is in BIG trouble!

When is this person with a "new and fresh concept going" to appear? All we've heard from the GOP wannabes is a bunch of the same old failed trickle-down economics and right-wing extremist social policies! If their current field is the best they can do the Republicans might as well get out of politics and start a new snake-oil business.
Here's an interesting column written by a conservative who supported Ronald Reagan but now supports Barack Obama:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/01/15/andrew-sullivan-how-obama-s-long-game-will-outsmart-his-critics.html?obref=obinsite
I happen to agree with Andrew Sullivan. I haven't been totally thrilled with everything President Obama has done but I believe he's done his best and I don't blame him for most of what has gone wrong. I shudder to think what shape we'd be in by now if he hadn't taken most of the actions he took! Unemployment is still too high but it's been steadily dropping for months now and we went from LOSING over 700,000 jobs each month to consistently adding jobs in the PRIVATE sector since public sector jobs have been lost. The federal government is "smaller" than it's been in years and federal taxes are the lowest they've been since the fifties. An AMERICAN car company is once again the top automaker in the world.
It could be better but it sure could also be worse...MUCH worse.
