I am going in for a larynoscopy and colonoscopy in the morning(01/20) Today is the hardest day and probably when I wake up will be horrible in the morning before I go.
My dinner last night consisted of a baked potato and white toast (don't they give a condemned man a better meal?
)
Today is clear liquids until I am supposed to take the gallon of medication at 5:00 pm. I told them I never drink a gallon of anything so not sure how this will go.
I am basically a main one meal person dinner between 4 and 6pm
Told Hubby to NOT come home to eat to eat BEFORE he comes home so I don't smell food cooking.
He probably thought I was insane!
Anyway I am allowed clear liquids today so will make some jello and get to at least drink tea all day.
I told the lady I might not get all the crap down me as I just don't eat that much. I said if you want all that down me I will not be able to drink anything else. She claimed you have to drink other stuff or you will dehydrate!
so I am having problems with my stomach already. haven't figured out how I will handle all this tonight.
Anyone else gone through this grueling experience?
My husband can chug a gallon of tea every day and 3 to 6 diet cokes.
I open a can of soda it takes me all day to drink it.
Yea this is not looking good LOL
anyway if I don't see you guys on here tomorrow, I will be sleeping off the anesthesia another thing that really has to go out of my system.
So Happy Mylotting to all of you here and friends here.

I am surprised that you don't have trouble with your kidneys with the small amount of liquids you normal drink. Preparing for tests are always the hardest. I am not sure if I would be able to drink a gallon either. I am sure you will do fine. How long do you have to drink the gallon of liquid.
When I had my colonoscopy the anesthesia wore off real fast. I was not tired at all once I got home. I think they put something in the iv in your hand to take away the effects.
Good luck to you.

Generally, you drink about a pint's worth (250 ml) every 10-15 minutes until it's all gone.

I had my second and final colonscopy just last week. The day before is horrible. I feel sorry for you, and glad that mine is over! I had to sart drinking the stuff at 1;00, and couldn't eat anything but clear stuff that day. It is hard enough for a normal person, but when you have trouble walking and do everything slowly it is worse. I stayed near the bathroom, but couldn't say in there as I would have liked to because my legs fall asleep and then I can't move.Just think ths time tomorrow it will all be over! I hope everything goes okay for you and there is no problems!

Final? was it that bad for you? Bless your heart!
I may as well be by myself. Hubby thinks I can do what he can do guess today he found out that I am more delicate than him!!!

Final because I can't think of anything I would like to do less. The last time I said I would never have another unless there was a problem. Well, there was a problem and of course they couldn't find anything wrong. I am tired of having tests that say I am normal. Nothing about me is normal! Before the colonoscopy, I had x-rays of my abdomen, which showed nothing, and now they want to do another test, but I don't think I will have that unless the bleeding starts again. I don't care what happens I will never have another colonoscopy, but I might have the other test done. I was by myself the day before, but a friend of mine took me for the test and then brought me home, got me gingerale and put me to bed.
Were you havng a problem that they wanted to do the colonoscopy and the other test? How did they turn out? I'll bet you are glad that's over!

I really hated the last time I had to drink that crap. I was able to get most of it down, but I felt so pukey the next morning when they were going to do the procedure that they just admitted me to the hospital that day instead of the day of the surgery two days later. To make matters worse, they put me on an NG tube which was in until after the surgery. I am usually able to drink a couple of bottles of water a day (or other drinks) so the gallon wasn't what bothered me. I think it was more that I was stopped up and it wasn't until after they put the colostomy in that I started doing better. Oh well...i hope you got through the ordeal ok.

By now you have had these tests done, and I hope the results are not too bad. Does sound like they need to get down to the bottom of what is causing you to feel like this for sure. I will be Praying and believing for Good results, and things to get back to normal from here. Feel Free to keep us updated when you can.

I'm sure the whole thing was excruciatingly uncomfortable for you my friend and so I'm hoping you are over it by now. I hope your results came out OK too if you will forgive the pun.
