It started out as good and then okay...i am not really bothered by the fact that he wears a weird looking skirt and is always topless. The costumes and make up were nice, the cgi was okay- not really impressed with the blood that looked like strawberry juice though. it's actually a nice movie if u watched it in 3D- the prtrayal was good especially by Rose Mcgowan as the sorceress who looked like an alien- she still looked pretty though. 
It's a good movie to watch if you like action +_ fantasy and a simple story.

i had a discussion on this movie ..the new conan.. when it first came out last year..
didnt like the movie..i prefer the old arnold version..

Yes for me the Arnold version was more interesting to watch over and over again. The plot of that movie is great and really one of a kind. You can really feel the impact of the movie, it is like you are inside the movie itself. Yes the new Conan is impressive with all the CGI and new plot but it cannot live up to the aura of the older version. When I watched the new Conan movie, it feels like it is too short and lacks something that the older version has, satisfaction.

wathing the new conan..is just liek watching a cheessy tv programming..lousy..
but the old conan..is realistic..arnold dont have much dialogue..but thats is good..so it has that barbaric ancient feel to it..

Definitely, the new Conan truly lacks something the old Conan has. That is the problem of movie remakes, it could be either a great remake or a devastating flop. The title Conan may have drawn many moviegoers but most of them maybe we're not satisfied by the outcome of the movie. I myself wasn't able to enjoy well the new Conan, they could have made the plot more interesting and not just pure revenge theme. The producers say it was not a remake but a new Conan story, however they cannot deny the fact that this movie will always be compared to the old Conan movie, so people are expecting more from this new Conan not just a lame old revenge story, and cheesy film as you have mentioned.

I got bored watching Conan the Barbarian, both the new and the old Conan the Barbarian was boring. There is some good action but it didn't impress me at all ..

Rose McGowan is in this? i really enjoy her. She was on Charmed and is very pretty. Also was on TCM as a host. I have read some of the Conan books and they were very exciting. Also I like the actor who is portraying Conan. I will look forward to seeing this movie.

The remake of Conan the barbarian was a good movie and is unique to the previous Conan we have seen. The movie itself is much different, and characters were good too. As you have mentioned, the blood seems to be too fluid, like strawberry, but al in all it was a good movie. The only drawback as to why is wasn't that popular is that the lead actor was not that popular to moviegoers. Jason Momoa is still unfamiliar to other countries, and we can't admit the fact that most people like to watch movies starring their favorite actors and actresses. After watching it, surely I was satisfied however it feels like it's a short film though it's almost one hour and a half I think. I am an avid fan of Conan the Barbarian, but the first Conan was astounding, and much closer to it's theme "Barbarian". You are really compelled to watch it all over again, because you can really like your transported to Conan's time while watching it. Like Clash of the Titans (1980's), that movie for me is better compared to the remake, Perseus in the first Clash was really God-like, not like the remake wherein he is too rugged and classless although the remake was cool with all the CGI but still it cannot outdo the first.
