slow internet... only 5kbps?!

have you ever had such a speed these days?! i mean why or what in the world is happening if you are only getting such a speed. i am not into these things but i am so disappointed at our broadband that they received about 5 calls from me complaining. we subscribed to a 2 mbps but is only getting 5kbps! our ping and traceroute results only to time outs! oh well i am so pissed with them i told them i am cancelling the account if they won't fix it today and see there are changes when i get home. so guys, when was the last time your internet connection failed you?

Oh damn, I always ranting if my internet connection go slow and disconnected. I subscribed 3.1 Mbps and almost a week getting slow and slow. I loss many job because of it...wtf

it is frustrating right? internet is not cheap and when we pay for the service we can afford we expect it or them to deliver. they are not giving us even half of the paid speed.. that is what is making me angry. its true, too much of refresh here and there for every page we test... that sure is taking money from us.

my advise to you is switch to another subscriber that offers a turbo speed internet. I had a problem like yours before and keep on calling the telecommunication company but stil they are so slow to improved it. i decided to switch to another provider. i'm glad that i did because now I am satisfied with the speed of my internet.

thank you jean. there are those who does provide the same service but that service provider does not give appropriate service too and there are much more complains than good reviews, so somehow we are afraid they are not going to live up with the expectation.

Oh, this happened on two occasions. Worse is that it was when I have to download something for work. As in the coincidence really was awful. What's funny is that they keep calling to ask if I want to upgrade my speed. I told them once their service is reliable, then I'll upgrade. I wanted to shift to another provider but unfortunately, the one I currently have is the only reliable provider that covers our area. (There are only two as of now) I'm just waiting for another to complete their facilities probably within the year.

yeah, actually there are other providers but we have got the best and yet they are giving us some headache recently too. i hope they will improve soon, we were advised by the center that they will receive a notification in the services and we are somehow looking forward to it. Thank God it did not happen to us that i need to submit something. :D he he

It happened to me for almost a week and I have been on the verge of canceling their service since it was so slow at the time. I am worried back then that I won't be able to finish my online job on time because it took so long before I was able to access my employer's website. Good thing that my employer was really understanding and supportive, and after complaining to the customer service several times, my internet connection improved. I guess they needed to be reprimanded and threatened first before they will take action.

oh i think that is the case, others let them by and they think it will work for us who does need the service fast. and well i seriously alloted time and i even sacrificed being late for about 30 minutes here at work just so i can contact them early this morning before i left for work.

Maybe you can just ask the company to send you a technician to see how strong the signal is , maybe some of the transmitters in the way got old ? Maybe if you get a different internet infrastructure , like maybe wireless , you will have less problems ?

get a reliable internet connection like the one with cables not broadbands because if there is a lot of people are using the same broadband you'll really get slow internet connection

try to transfer your computer to somewhere in your house where you can get a better signal for the broadband if that doesn't solve the problem ask someone your friends where to get a wired connection :)

try to ask PLDT I just checked your profile so I know that you live in the Philippines, they are the most stable isp in the Philippines, even smart broadband can't much them if you want you can also try wiitribe. but I'm not sure if their service is good if you don't want to risk it just go with PLDT that's the best solution

Hi Chiyosan, I am also facing this problem but i don't have any broadband or 3G connection but I have a 2G network mobile so I get 10 to 15 kbps speed. Some times I get only 5kbps speed. I think this is due to traffic or network problem.

that's right, even though the network is clogged, i think they should be willing to increase their capacity for thee number of subscriber they have right? it is really unfair for those paying enough and we are paying on time too. i think we should be getting the speed we paid for.. there are really some lower subscriptions but we are paying for the supposed better ones.

Hi! I have also experienced this in a certain internet provider company. Only 2mbps but it cannot fully provide what they are offering. The internet loading is very slow. We always call them when theres a problem but it keeps on coming back, our contract is not yet done so I hope once its done we will be able to transfer to a better internet provider.

this is the same thing we experienced. our connection is very intermittent. and well i think i will give them today and tomorrow morning, then i will continue to make sure they check our connection again. thank you eljayo.

Having a very slow internet connection really irritating.I do experienced it the night which really sucks.In the mood of reading discussion after searching some stuff in the net when suddenly disconnected.I do reconnect but having a hard time to reload the page.I keep on trying but same problem occur.Having a slow connection really sucks and annoying.I just turn off my computer and just watch TV till I fall asleep.

yeah, i agree with you. it is very annoying to have no stable internet connection. i believe that when we do have services, we should be getting what we paid for and of course we have the right to complain if we are getting any less than what we expect.
