Kid friendly tablet PC?

My almost 2 year old loves technology. We have started teaching her how to use the computer and there are various games she likes to play on Nick Jr. Thinking ahead to Christmas, I would like to get her a tablet PC. I don't need anything too high end. Something to watch Nick Jr TV shows on, has wifi, plays kid friendly games - adding, subtracting, writing, reading, ect. Are there any brands that are more durable than others?

Interesting :). I think an ipad 2 would be to extravagant for a 2 year old, but it still depends to you. There are a lot of tablets out there, most of them are almost similar to each other. Nevertheless, the most important aspect is their OS (operating system) so obviously you will need to choose between iOS or android. Both of them have an established library of software, so I don't think you'll have a hard time finding those educational software for kids. As for the brand, you'll just need to choose among the well established brands; apple, samsung, lg, toshiba, sony, htc, blackberry and a lot more. Lastly, maybe you can research online if there are hi-tech toys for kids, since a tablet might not be suitable for your child. Maybe v-tech has a tablet for kids, not really sure though.

Vtech does have a table for kids they run $89-$100 for just the tablet. If I'm spending that much I may as well get her a real tablet. Also, the VTech tables are extremely limited and I'm not looking for a throw away toy that she will use for a year then toss out. I'm not opposed to getting an Android based tablet for her, however I know from experience that the Android OS is not always stable and can be difficult to maneuver. I'm not looking for something that she would play with alone, this would primarily be a learning tool that she would use for her preschool classes and supervised until she was old enough and responsible enough to use it on her own.
