drawstring purse for my cards

Knitted Drawstring Bag - This is a knitted drawstring bag I made using the garter stitch. I used an acrylic base yarn for durability and Bernat's Boa yarn to give it a fun, fluffy look. I'm really satisfied with my new bag! :-)

I guess I kinda got bored with the traditional wallet, and plus every wallet I get basically bursts because I have so many cards (only 2 credit cards but I have many identification cards for kids glaucoma valves, hearing aid id, gov't id, that sort of thing, so I decided to use a neat little trick. I knitted together a little drawstring bag for my cards using scrap acrylic yarn with a nice boa fun yarn to make it pretty. It's big and fluffy but I love it. It's a good conversation piece, and I know this will make me more organised and not trying to stuff everything into one place. I'll be making more kinds of these bags later as I need them.

Great idea. I don't have a lot of cards to carry around, so the typical wallet works fine for me, but I can see how having a lot of cards would be frustrating and this drawstring purse is a great solution..

LOL you're probably a lot more organised than me. It's funny, I take out my purse, take out the cards, then flip through them as if I'm dealing a deck of playing cards, that's how many I have, but some of them are the kids' health/id cards, and library cards, so that'll take up a lot of room until they leave the nest.

Me organized? You have to be joking..lol I do keep some important things organized, like our bills and tax info, but for some things like my music for example, I have no good storage, so my CD's are in probably about 4-5 different places, and some have no covers...lol

Perfect idea. I crocheted a little bag of cotton yarn for my cell phone, for when I do not have pockets. I agree, you can wear out a wallet quickly with all the things you need to carry. I am missing a couple of id cards right now because I cleaned out a wallet. I should have been looking around for them today, because I am home sick.

Sounds a great idea. I have a great big wallet to keep cards and all the various bits of paper i seem to collect in, but something a little more girly would be nice.

It is nice to feel in my hand, I will tell you that, and I think everyone looks at my pouch as I open it, and I do like the attention it gets. It's unique, and just another way of expressing myself. I haven't cleaned out my wallet in like, 3 or more years! :-p I should get to it but the task only seems daunting.
