If Capello resigned over the handling of the Terry captaincy, he has done it respectably. He is principled and always stands by his players. Although I don't really agree with his football ways, he has done well for England. Now that England is without a manager with 120 days to go to European Championship, it is interesting to see how will they cope with that. My prediction is that the England under-21 coach, Stuart Pearce, will be taking temporary charge in consultation with Harry Redknapp until the end of the season when Redknapp will take over officially and lead them to the European Championship.

I am not sure the Terry captaincy is a part of the tactic and strategy as what you mean.

Yes, Capello has quit as coach of England. He was unhappy with the handling of the John Terry issue. He felt that FA overruled him in sacking John Terry without conferring with him. Now Harry Redknapp looks like the favorite for the next England Manager. Cheers! Ram

Capello quit, because the English FA decided to sack John Terry as the captain based on the racism row in which Terry has got involved. I think this is a sad way to part ways where the FA took the decision without taking the manager into confidence as they wanted to act fast on this issue. All in all a nice mess they have got themselves into. Cheers! Ram

It's unfortunate for England that Fabio Capello had to depart this way. One cannot say for sure if Capello resigned just because of the way the Football Association (FA) handled the John Terry issue. At this juncture, we just have to respect Capello's decision to leave and the English FA position to let him go. I don't think there is any reason for describing the action of the English FA as "stupid" as some respondent did. The Euro 2012 competition will start in just a few months time and I feel that time is still enough for the English FA to recruit a new manager and for the man to put a good team together. Many have tipped Harry Redknapp to succeed the Italian who just resigned but we can't be so sure. I think the management of Tottenham Hotspur will not be happy to let Redknapp leave at this stage that the team is doing so well.

Remember how the Italian won the 2006 World Cup despite the on-going corruption case back in the country? While the latest situation ain't exactly ideal, if the new manager can pull the team together, they should not be discounted even thou pre or post Capello, I don't think they stand a chance.

Yes, i was shocked when i read the report. I didn't expect Capello to quit from england after the FA refuse to take his decision. Whatever FA does, they are always doing the wrong things. If there's any new manager coming in, he won't have enough time to train with the team since Euro is starting June. Furthermore, england has always been a major disappointment on the big stage and it's hard to see england surviving this Euro with no manager until further notice.

Yes, it's very bad. Actually i support England as my 2nd favorite national teams. So i wish they could speak much in the upcoming Euro 2012. But with this case and Capello resignment, i'm afraid it would be harder for them. In fact, i think Capello had a latent intrigue with FA. He dislike FA for some of their decision. That's why he didn't intend to long his contract after Euro 2012. Too bad he had to resign now
