tips and strategies for job

One of my friends gave me great advice when I started my career. He told me that career is a marathon and not a sprint. So you do not have to think about what we need to do in the next 1 or 2 years, but take a macro view when you look at the career. I think this is real sound advice as generally most people who suffer with their career moves are the ones who look at the short term gains rather than the long term gains. The other aspect is to get a fact in mind that career will not move in only one direction. There are times in a career when you might have to take a step back or move in the sideways direction, so that you can develop your skills to best fit the job that you perform. Cheers! Ram
