In December my work went down to a four day week due to the current world wide economic downcline. Because of this i had to try and find part time work to help pay the mortgage.
i come from a small comunity which has high unemployment but i managed to get a friday and saturday night shift in a local pub.
I find that by the end of it i am absolutely shattered with very little time to recover before i am back to my normal day. At 48 i do find it tough but the needs out weigh the negatives.
Does anyone else have the same situation and how do you deal with it?

I have gone through some difficult financial times in the past three years, and it has definitely changed my way of life. I had to get everything but my mortgage paid off, and now it's better, but it took quite awhile. I'm a little comfortable now, but I will not be buying anything else on credit again and I willl never have another credit card--ever. I am not paying anybody else any interest. The heck with those robbers taking my extra money. Well, it won't happen again. I've learned my lessons.
I am working on the internet very little, babysitting for gas only, and get a little gas allowance when I go to VA. These things all help some. So I am doing ok for right now, Thank God.

I think we are on the same bro. I no longer work in the government sector and am now looking for a steady job. I found getting a job nowadays is like getting blood from a stone. I've kept my nose to the grindstone and opportunities still don't turn up. Just keep seeking it, and be patient.

There have been times when I have picked up extra jobs and hours where I could. Times now are exceptionally tough and especially in the smaller communities...well...everywhere really. I clean houses on the side when my job allows.
I have been blessed I think with my job. I have struggled here and there but the company has maintained during these terrible times.
I will be thinking of you and hoping that things get better and you won't be struggling so much.
