Paypal Question

I use eBay but right now have a reason to believe my Paypal check I requested won't be arriving by Tuesday the latest. I requested it on the 4th of this month and so far haven't gotten it today (the 18th) when I have always received a requested check within this amount of time. I called them up today and they said to wait until Tuesday ( Monday is a holiday and we don't get mail that day) and see if if it still doesn't get here by then. If it doesn't I have to call them again and then they put a trace on it. So, how long does a trace take and meanwhile do they send me another check? What if I needed the money in a hurry? I am so worried right now that something happened to the check and I won't have the money. This has never happened before, I always got the checks.

I've never asked for a check from eBay. I've always withdrawn the money to my checking account. That usually takes 2-3 days. As a seller, I don't care for people who buy with e-checks. It seems like it takes Paypal about a week to clear the checks so you don't get the money and ship items until the check clears.

No it doesn't have anything to do with my buyers, and I usually do ask for the money to be sent to my bank acct rather than request a check but I had a scare with one of my customers who said he never got his item, even when the confirmation said it was delivered. I panicked and thought he might try something to freeze my acct due to the communication he was giving me in emails. I should have took the easy route of them giving my money to me in my checking acct, it would have saved me some grief. One more day to wait and I'm calling them again.

Since the post office confirmed that the item was delivered, I think you would be safe as far as eBay goes. It would be up to the buyer to check with the post office to find out what happened to the item. Since you did have tracking, I think that if the buyer went to the resolution center, the best he could expect is for Paypal to refund his money, not take it back from you.

That is what most have told me, but then I read somewhere that they can do these other things and start a dispute anyways and meanwhile what will happen to my funds til it's worked out. Anyway I will know tomorrow if I get the check (my last hope) and then I have to call Paypal again.
