I had a procedure done last summer called endometrial abalation where they use a roller ball device to burn and scrap the uterus because of my heavy periods. I was told that I would stop bleeding altogether. I did at first but now about six or so months later, I seem to be getting a period again at the end of the month. It happened last month and this. I was just wondering if any women out there may have had this procedure and what their experience was with it. Is it normal to have periods still. I am in my fifty's now and want to go through menopause and stop my periods. If you want you could tell me of your thoughts, my lot friends!

Did the doctor say you won't have a period anymore? Since it's not said you already are in your menopause at all. Unless you let your uterus remove.
My uterus was scrapped had bleedings for over a year, the doctor did not know what to do. Got the advice from someone in Yugoslavia (doctor) to take anticonception for some time, twice the dose. After that it was over an I took the normal dose.

I have read that this can happen, though if you get light periods now maybe you don't need to worry about it unless it bothers you. It can be that they didn't remove the lining of the uterus totally. I think I would ask the doctor about it, maybe they can do the procedure again.

You can consult your doctor to check whether you're heal with that procedure or another thing came up that you need to repeat the procedure. Me I was bleeding too before while I was already menopaused. They found out that I have mayoma I was operated and remove my cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries but I feel and hope am competely healed.
