Do they really read the responses to their posts??

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this - a few people that I have responded to haven't really read what I wrote. They write back with something that doesn't make sense if they had really read my response. That's frustrating. Whenever I post a new discussion, I'm actually interested in reading what people have to say about it. Then I respond to them. I think they are just interested in getting paid so the content of a person's response doesn't matter.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Maybe they misunderstood what you are trying to point out, that's why their responses seem not related.
I am lucky though that the respondents to my discussions would really respond well, so much so that it becomes long because of the exchange of opinions, which makes me really happy.

It could be that they misunderstood. People respond well to my discussions, but what I'm talking about is their reply to my response to their discussion.
Did that make sense. Ugh! I think I'm getting tired :)

Oh, this has happened to me for many times already that I lost count. Sometimes it's frustrating, but most of the time I just shake my head and comment on their response something about reading next time.
It is important that people should read not only the discussion title but the details as well...Maybe those things happen because of what you just said, they just want to get paid.

Yeah, I think some people do mylot mainly to get paid. And that's ok, that's why I started on it. But I have found the discussions to be very good and like reading and responding to them.

That's great to know. I'm the same, I came to MyLot to earn real money.
It's just sad to say, there are still people who didn't realize that the discussions are fun when you allow yourself to really have fun participating in them.

I am the same way. I want to hear what people have to say in my discussions. There have been times when I have had people just read the title to my discussion and then answered without reading anything within the body. I usually try to guide them but sometimes they are way off the actual topic.

LOL! I think that just happened to one of mine!
We shouldn't judge the discussion solely on the title. One of the mylotters responding on this discussion said it could be close to the end of the month so they want to get as many in as possible.

Sometimes the phrases we use may sound very confusing to some people or others tend to interpret it differently. I have had some discussions or responses why by someone asked me what I meant. I think it is because we are from different background and we speak different languages.

Boy is that true! I've had trouble understanding what a response or discussion says. It doesn't bother me at all because I know it's hard to learn another language. I admire those people who are learning American English.

i am quite new here and this never happened to me.i believe the point of creating a discussion here is receiving answers.why would someone create one if is not interested in what people are answering.it's pointless.if they do this just for the money it is sad cause it means that they are not really interested in anything else in life.

me i always read all the responses in my discussion, maybe some people don't mind about the content of the responses because they are all after the payment. but i don't know if the responses that i have made were read by the starter

Well then, they haven't read the instructions either!:) It says that the content of the responses also determines the pay.

Ok. Is it that you just don't like to read so many or you don't like the replying part?

I have had a few of those it seems that they go in a flow of the month ends
I think that some people do that just to make enough to cash out each month. I have even seen other members just plain out right ask if they read what had been written. When it happens to me I just ignore that post and move on to the next one. Maybe they will have something to say that actually makes since. Other wise it would drive me nuts
well more nuts than I already am lol.

Nuts? I love nuts! I am nuts! :)
I hadn't thought about the month end thing. It makes sense! I will have to learn just to ignore them too. Come to think about it, it was near the end of the month when that was happening!

I've had people tell me I have read there response and I haven't read what they wrote but I did. Just because the way I say certain things they take it as I didn't read but I did. So its all about how you read what the other person says back to you. Because we don't all talk the same way. We normally write back how we would talk to someone in person. I normally responded back with some kind of experiences in mind so that might be why people assume I don't read what they right or if I just agree with. Some times there isn't anything more that I could have said any differently so I just agree with them. If I don't understand or don't feel the kind of response I got was something I could work with or go off of I would say Okay or what do you mean or can you rewrite what you said. Because everyone comes from all over the world yeah there are people that misread things or skip things especially if its really long.
I try not to tell people you didn't read what I said. I always try to say I think you might have misread what I said or maybe its not clear enough what I said or re-look above I believe I already addressed that.

Hello HeresTheScoop
Well there are two possibilities, they don't really read your respond or they don't understand your respond
. And yeah maybe they just feel guilty if they don't comment back to the responder
. But for me, I always comment back to all the responses that I get.

I try to comment back on all of them also. Sometimes I miss a couple. I suppose they could misunderstand what I wrote.

I have not yet experience it so far.And hope not.Like in your case,I will also be sad if that will happen to me.Aside from earning money,my reason to join this site is for me to get other people's side with my experiences, thoughts.I want to know their opinion, their advices, reaction, suggestions.I also like to give some comments or suggestions with regards to their discussions that they've posted. It's nice to know especially if many people had responded to your discussions. It somehow means that many people can relate and are interested to read and react with what you've discussed.

Getting other people's perspective is good. Rick911 had a different take on this, he said that maybe they were tired.
Like you, I want to know their opinion, advice, reaction, etc. And I like giving my feedback to the topic.

i think that is not the real reason because if someone respond to a discussion which has no connection to the topic it will be subjected to being deleted in the thread which causes the earnings of the writer will decrease. maybe, the respondent didn't really understand your point of view that is why he/she posted that nonsense things/ :) just enjoy mylotting.

It does have to do with the topic when they reply to my response. It's just that I can tell that they really didn't pay attention to what I wrote. For example (this was not a real discussion, just a similar example), the topic is swimming and within that topic they mentioned getting water up their nose when doing summersaults.
I respond "When I was young my friends and I had tea parties under water. I have had water get up my nose, but not when doing summersaults."
Then they reply "Yes, it's fun to dive after things in the pool. It's natural to get water up your nose when doing summersaults."
Did that make sense?
