The PIT at concerts

Can you please tell me everything you know about the PIT at concerts. And whether or not it's a good thing to be in that area of a concert. I would normally ask my husband about this but as I'm trying to plan a trip to a concert for him I don't want him to start trying to figure things out. Tell me what your experience has been and what you know. Thanks so much. It seems to me that the Pit is right in front of the stage and the price for them seem to be reasonable.

I would have to say that it really depends on the type of concert your going to. If its a heavy metal band or thrash metal you don't want to be in the pit as that is where every one gets crazy and if you are there you could get seriously hurt. If its not a heavy rock band then you should be ok. I would ask if they are obstructed view seats as those usually are cheaper than the other seats in the same area. Also if your short you may not want to be in the pit as it may be standing room only and if it is you wont be able to see the stage let alone the band or person performing at the concert. Hope you get if figured out and good luck.

Thanks so much. That helps me a great deal. So I know that we definitely don't want the pit. I don't want to get hurt and I'm short so that would be defeating the purpose. This has helped me a lot. I will look for seats in another area. It should work out good as long as they don't sell out. The seats that are in the obstructed view section is it really hard to see the band? Or is it just a little thing that they have to put on their so that people know that something is there? Thanks again.
