I used to read Mary Higgins Clark, the mystery/crime fiction writer ALL THE TIME back in middle school - My aunt borrowed me the book Where are the Children and from there I was totally hooked and read almost all of her (mystery) books with a few exceptions. I remember that 'Where are the Children' and 'Moonlight Becomes You' were my two most favorite books by her - definitely worth checking out if you like the whole suspence/mystery thing. The only thing I remember disliking about her is that most of her books have pretty much a very similar set of characters and plot lines, so similar that things tend to run together after reading a few of her books. I just bought another one of her books, that I probably have read about 10 years ago, from the thrift store for .50 cents. It's called "A Cry in the Night" and so far it's been pretty good. Are there any other Mary Higgins Clark fans out there? If so, which are your favorite books? And which other authors do you suggest reading of the same genre?

Hi maezee, nope I haven't read Mary Higgins Clark yet though I see most of her books in bookstores especially in booksales! I think I have one of her book but I have not read it yet. I'll check my bookshelf again later and maybe I should start reading it.. If it is a suspense/mystery novel without anything unnatural in it, I could say that Sidney Sheldon is the best writer out there. I have read almost all his books except the recent one that was just released 2008 I think. But if I would rate Mr. Shedlon's books, it would be 10/10. Even though you could determine things already if you have too much of his writings. Still, very good novels.

I also want to read James Patterson but haven't had the chance yet. His Maxwell series I believe are for teenagers, right? I want to read his Alex Cross novels!

I'm curious about the Alex Cross series. Did you enjoy the stories? Was it a good read?

Only 2 or 3 pages huh? That must leave the readers hanging until the next chapter I assume.. There are now a lot of James Patterson books in book sales and even free downloadable ebooks so I will not find it hard to get his books. I just hope I will have more free time to read. Usually I am so tired after work that I rarely do anything when I get home from work.

I have read one of her books, and I did enjoy reading it. However, I have read a few more books that her daughter wrote. Not many, but still a few more.

I've read some of hers, well one atleast. I did like her style of writing, but I can't remember the name of the book. It started with A W, I remember that. I like Nora Roberts, but she's not really mystery or suspense. I've been getting into the "not so well known" authors for those kind of books.
