We had a problem with our DSL provider and had to return it a few weeks ago. The thing is, we only had PLDT available in our area and there are no other available companies that caters to the area = no Line yet said globe telecoms and Sky Dsl. =(
So we had no choice but to try out PLDT despite the reviews over the internet that they have a bad service. So we applied for it and went to their service center. After a week, we went back to pay for the installation fee (application is approved). So we are expecting our DSL to be connected already... within a week perhaps. But its been a month now and its almost everyday that i get in touch with them and they are not sure when they can have a line installed. that is the same answer we get everyday from this company.
Everyday, they have excuses. the first week, i would get a bit annoyed, now i just lost the drive to be angry anymore... =( how can one company be doing this to their customers?! What kind of crappy service is this and its just not fair that they are not even giving us updates even if they promised to do so during one of the calls we have had! hayyy i wish really there is one decent company there who won't treat customers who want to subscribe as it is something that we should be thanking them for just because they service us!

I have used DSL for the last 5 years and I have never had a problem with them. I remember one day when there was a problem with the connections, they came to my house after 3 days and fixed it. I have not had any other problem since then, so it is really hard to know whether they are still offering good services or not. I just hope they can attend do you soon.

thank you mashnn. we used to have no problems with our provider until they upgraded their system and since then we are no longer able to connect properly.
we opted for another provider and this other provider is not responding! =( they only told us to pay for the installation fee and they are not doing any installation!

Hi chiyosan!
That's really frustrating! And it's kinda surprising because the PLDT here in our town is very prompt in their service! I remember when I applied for a land line and internet package, it was only a matter of days before they installed it. It was very memorable because it was during the typhoon Ondoy when they installed it. They went and fought with the storm just so they could do the installation. And what's awesome is that, installation came free with the package. My mother was so awed that she had to treat the laborers for dinner at our house.
And their service was again prompt when we decided to change our package to land line with business internet plan. It only took a few days before they changed our subscription and installed the new modem and all.
I guess, there are still difference in the service when we talk about the area even if it is of the same company. Good luck with your request.

They checked with our area and its a servicing area. ours is more on the commercial side so that meant it is impossible there are no lines in the area. which bothers me. Then they said that they are still checking some boxes installed in the area because they ran out of slots, hence they do not know where to have our request installed outside our house. =( I am so disappointed at them, to be honest they are not doing their jobs well and there is a lack of coordination. They are not even giving us some feedback so it is really frustrating. its been 1.5 months now!

It actually reminds me of a time I had to wait awhile for a connection to come out. If it's a service that is a bit far away from where you live it seems they take a bit of time. I'd keep calling and asking about it and it wouldn't hurt to tell them once or twice that you could always get your money back and go with another company. Even if you can't, they wouldn't know. Them taking their dear sweet time is not good customer service, and you are technically a customer.
If they aren't out there within the next week, get your money back.

Hello Chiyosan,
Hahaha
Oh my GOD
, this reminds me of my experience way back 2006. I was working as a volunteer and our bosses wanted to create this website of their organization. in doing so, they were given two South Korean Volunteers to do the work. unfortunately, when we applied for our own PLDT DSL

hey letran! its nice to hear from you.
Well yes.. its a month now and still counting. i am wondering how much longer should it take for them to install a freaking dsl. they are the PLDT, they are supposed to have the facility for such but obviously as with their age, we find it surprising that PLDT has let their service decline to this level! its such a pity that they are unable to provide quick service, to think this is just installation and we are not even their customer yet = so to speak. such stress this company is.

Your experience reminded me with my own nightmare with internet providers. I was disconnected for almost four weeks, and relying on internet cafes to do my work. This is very unfortunate for me because I have to bear the noise of other internet cafe patrons and the keep myself from blowing into anger when conversing with a Globe representative.
That really took the cake for me was that Globe didn't even refunded the or subtracted those four weeks form our bill. They said that they need to determine it first but they put me back online before the inspection began. so three's no point in asking for refund the first place. I hsd half a mind to scream at them but I cannot do anything against it.

oh we really have limited options! Up until this time there was no update from the PLDT about this and they said there are no lines available yet i called the other day and they said they will follow up... i bet after i put the phone down, there are not a single thing they would do for it. =(

Yeah, that's what happened to ours when we applied for it. And they had a pretty bad timing too, no one's at home when they went here for installation so my cousin who's living just a block away was the one who assisted them when they installed it in our house. And can you believe it?! They made the installation at 5 o'clock in the afternoon!
And to make things worse, sometimes we pay the bill 2 days before the deadline but they would still cut our connections. We experience losing connection for a month, I think about 2 months even though we're paid!! AAArgh..and when we call them for customer service they always promise that they're working on it that we only had to wait 2 days or so, but after the promised date we still haven't gotten connection. We always call them and report it that they eventually block our phone too! The nerve...

How do you contact PLDT? If you are reaching them via Phone Call. Be sure to have a Trouble Ticket or something that you can track down the problem you are reporting. What I can recommend to you is go to the near PLDT Center and informed them your problem. Be sure to keep the reference. Usually company has a reference for everthing they do.
