Have you been a good samaritin and did some kind of good deed for someone or some people out of the goodness of your heart? When and how was this? Did they have the chance to even say thank you? Or did you do it anonymously? Or was the hand ever on the other foot where someone was your good samaritin? Please explain.

I sent parcels with food for years (each month) to a family in Hungary, did the same for someone in Roemenia (who dumped me as he heard I wanted to get married). I borrowed my car to a co-worker (got it broke back plus bills from the police), I took the bf of a friend in my house as he had no place to go (broke my laptop, my car etc etc and left still get the bills), I gave away food, stuff to different neighbours in need (nobody of them ever did anything for me we even did not became friends), I give money, food, clothes to people who need it (in my country, Hungary and Africa), I helped out neighbours with debts at the bank (in the end I had to sell my house, lived on the street with my kids and had to pay back over 60.000 euro!).. I have a long list of all the good I did. I can tell you it won't pay back. Nobody will be gratefull and it kills every friendship you have and you won't make new friends with it. If you think you can knock on their door if you need help you are wrong. They will slam the door in your face or worser don't even open it (and always small excuses why they can't help).
I think you don't help people if you give them stuff or money for free. You only create beggars and scammers with that.

Wow, that is alot of good things you have done wakeupkitty. I'm sure those people do appreciate the things you have done for them, at least a few of them. But I know what you mean, there are some people out there who just don't give a flying fig if you help them, and they won't even help you back if you need the help. I for one though, feel like I almost have an obligation and try to help those who have helped me as much as I can. Good points you have made, too.

Of course. I have fed meters downtown when they have expired. I have helped the homeless. I have helped seniors in and out of my store (at work). I can't think of anything else at the moment but I know there are more. I like these little acts of random kindness. I know that when it happens to me, it totally makes my day, and I hope that I can make someone else's day in return!
