When you download something that is in .pdf and using Adobe Reader...It "downloads" then shows it on the screen. I know that if I want to save it, I click to save and when on hard drive I want to save it, but..if I don't want to save it...where is that .pdf file now? It says it downloaded, but doesn't say where. Is it downloaded on my hard drive or is that just how they say "the file is open and you can look at it, but if you want to keep it you have to save it yourself" kind of thing? But where is that file been downloaded? On my harddrive? And if it is downloaded onto my hard drive some place, how do I find out where? And does it take up space? I have done many "downloads" to look at quilting patterns and some I have saved, but most I don't. Are those I didn't save on my pc anywhere?

Go to your download area where your browser downloads and stores everything. It's usually under My Documents\Downloads. Hope it helps.

I went there...have that folder...but nothing is in it. Your suggestion also made me double check on my C: drive a www.download folder that I have to put things that I do download intentionally in...and this particular file wasn't there. I know everything that is there and most are programs/software exe files.

Whatever things that you opened via browsers are actually being downloaded - not only pdf, but also images, texts, etc. It is being stored on your browser cache. For the easiest, you need to explicitly save/download things to your hard drive by press Ctrl+S (save), or if your browser doesn't support to show a kind of type, they will automatically download it for you (for example, if you haven't any plugin to show pdf files, then the browser will save it for you instead).
