repeatedly for 13 years...I saw this on a reality show where they resolve conflicts in neighborhoods. The father was left by his 13 years ago so h vents out his anger on the boys- e was also battered when he was a child; but what he is doing to his children is much worse than what happened to him. I felt really sad fr the boys who never fought and just let themselves be hit by hammers, and pipes in their limbs and head. They were even locked up in the house for a few days if their father goes to work far away...
Good thing one of the neighbors reported them to this show. I can't even imagine the horrible things he did.. I hope he changes and no parent ever does these things to anyone..

I don´t think this father will change much and his children will be bruised forever. I do hope though that the kids are taken away from him. Although I don´t like the idea of foster homes in general, this is one situation where I´d use them.

I was thiking also about psychological bruising. And if society and laws don´t do anything about it, it is as much their fault as the father (who must be a mental case).

I was able to watch this show earlier today and I feel sad for the children. And in our country, the laws are useless. If this happened in the US, the father would've been jailed immediately and the children removed from his care. I feel bad that at the end of the show, the children are still to go home to the father because that is how our government and social welfare system works. I am amazed even by the woman who was defending the father by saying to the neighbors why didn't they report the abuse to the police. The answer to this is plain and simple. The father will just be invited to the police station, reprimanded, then be asked to go back home. We have existing laws that are supposed to defend the rights of helpless children like in this situation. But these laws really have little effect on children being abused by parents like these.

Yes, our laws have too many loopholes as what some of our law experts have been saying. I guess it's time to amend it and give more emphasis on the rights of our children and steeper punishments to heinous crimes which are more common this days.

I get so angry hearing about parents beating up or neglecting their children!
All parents who do this to their children should all be charged and let to rot in prison for what they did! Where I live I heard, recently, a 15 year old girl was kept in by the parents in the basement. Not let up stairs and was hardly fed! One day she escaped her prison and luckliy someone saw her and took her to the police and her paretns were arrested! The girl is in foster care at this time and her parents are heading to trail for what they did to her! The 15 year old girl looks like she is 8 or 9 and talks like she is the at age, too! I hope her parents are put in prison for life for what they did to her and she gets the help she really needs! Some people are so evil they don't care what they do to their loved ones!

Not surprised. That is where we have come in the year 2012. As many stories that has come out about abusive parents, you would think that they were the rule rather than the exception. They should be the exception. At least they should be right in an ideal world but the problem is, we are not really living in an ideal world. Each and every day, it seems like I read about a case of some grossly abusive parents.
It is a vicious cycle, and it is one that doesn't seem to be ending any time soon. Most can have children but it is becoming painfully obviously that a good chunk of people who do have children, shouldn't. Especially when they take out of the frustrations of their own life on them in such a disturbing and twisted manner. Then again, it is just a story we've heard many times before and a story that is going to continue.

That is really horrible, why would he turn on the helpless kids. He had no right to be called father of his sons. What he did to his 3 son is inhuman, I hope the Social Welfare will take custody of the children. I'm just wondering why his neighbors took 13 years before they take action. Well, I guess they don't want to get involved. Anyway thanks to them for having the guts to report the man.

Great. How could he do that to his children? On what basis did his wife left? What is there to being sons that they have to feel suffering? It is a glaring violence to children. Poor kids, they have to stay with the one who hurt them. I find it dim that the children be reconciled with their father.

It is amazing what some people do to others that they supposedly love. Their anger and their own past histories are so sad and no one stepped in and helped them so it continued. I hope that these two boys don't continue as he has. I read a very sad story one time in Reader's Digest about a little girl that was passed around to different family members. Each one beat her. It was the family legacy I guess. And she ended up in a shallow grave. Nobody wanted her or wanted to treat her right.

Many children around are rudely exploited and punished mercylessly all over the world. Few of them are notified and I think about 1% is coming out to the public and get saved. It is quite unfortunate about such inhuman behaviors and such people are severely punished. Many children are suffering and unable to report to anybody due to fear and threat. Not only parents, even others are exploiting the minors and female child abuse also is expanding largely in every nook and corener of the world and never notified or saved by anyone. In fact we need to pray for them, if it works.

There are so many ways to discipline a child. Yes, we may probably resort to spanking or hitting which most parents do and inevitable anyway. But there is a boundary, and every parents know that.
I think a parent who hits his/her child excessively needs counseling. That parent has probably psychological issues (not insane), but probably some conditions just as reasons why we are acting the way we act. There are some psychological explanations for that, maybe a history or temper, we don't know. That's why it's vital for families to guide their son/daughter who is already a parent.
