Could you please suggest some upfront paying legit sites ? My friend is interested to work on such sites . I have not much faith on such sites . I suggested her expertscolumn but she likes to get paid fast and more in quantity . She writes well . She signed up with qualitygal but she asked me to suggest some more legit ones . I am sure myLot can help her with their suggestion . Thanks in advance .

Do you mean actual up-front payments or do you mean payment per article (as opposed to revenue share)? People seem to confuse the two. Actual up-fronts - i.e. payment BEFORE the article is written and submitted - are a dying breed. They used to be a lot more common but as the number of "writers" online has boomed, the up-fronts have disappeared - far too many good clients paid up-front and got crap content in return. About the only remaining up-fronters are Yahoo Voices (which used to be Yahoo Contributor Network, which used to be Associated Content) and Helium. Direct article sales, as opposed to up-fronts, are much more common. Helium and AC both have marketplaces, even though the prices suck these days (you're looking at a few dollars max, plus rev share). iWriter pays per article, assuming you don't get scammed and don't mind working for crap pay (it's a content mill, so $5/500 words is considered good pay). Constant Content pays VERY well but they're strict on editing (AP style). Reviewstream pays for work, though there's always the risk they'll only pay you their bulk rate. Textbroker works pretty well if you're US or UK based and can earn their top rating (the pay jumps by a factor of five, I believe). Zemandi is also available, but their system significantly favours the client... and screws the writer. Hope it helps.

OK... for Indians, of those above, iWriter, Reviewstream and Zemandi should work. Helium should accept them. Yahoo Voices won't pay them unless they get into the "specialists" program. Textbroker is UK/US only. Constant Content will accept anyone as long as they can make the grade: she'll have to write as well as a native speaker. Of course, there's always the bidding sites, too (Elance, Guru, oDesk, Freelancer, vWorker and others) but they're more effort to find and get work than something like iWriter. If she's serious about her freelance career, they'll be an excellent source of income; if she's a hobbyist, they'll be too much effort.

She is from India and I think she is looking for payment per articles .I had faced problems earlier with two sites so I am very skeptical about such sites . I have to check with her regarding the options you referred .

hi rollylolly associated content is the only one I think is much good but I have not got up the courage to try the writing sites. I am a fiction writer but think I could do articles too if given a chance. so I do suggest associated content.

I am new to online writing. I got a lot of good information from other mylotters. I have had some, but very limitted, success. I got some upfront payments early on from Associated Content which is now Yahoo Voices. Since the change to Yahoo Voices, I have had no upfront payments and I am even having trouble getting my articles published. They have gotten stingier and fussier in their quest to be more professional. However, Yahoo Voices supposedly still offers upfront payments. Your friend can always try. I am also on Helium, which I like, but have never received any payment from yet. Helium requires $25 in your account to send it to PayPal. I am halfway there.

If she lives in the United States she can write as an independent contractor and get upfront payments like $5.10 (what I usually get when I write a new article for them)... It has to be good grammar and something that isn't just regurgitated from the Net. That's the best that I know of. I also write for Factoidz and Examiner.com... Factoidz pays anyone from all over the world, I think. There are lots of internationals in Factoidz. Examiner only pays people from the US and Canada I think... and Yahoo Voices pays upfront when you submit for upfront payment. I'm a health writer. They don't pay for poetry or short stories or any kind of prose. But they do pay for health, beauty and other types of articles if they like them. I made about $1200 with them last year. I made twice that the year before. They also pay for page views. I've not been in good health so I have trouble keeping up, so I just do Factoidz and Examiner now because in examiner I have 2 columns to keep up with. It's just too difficult for me to keep up with them, let alone Yahoo voices.

She can try writing for hubpages. Its like experts column. But if she's that good, she can try iwrite, I think they pay you on the spot for every article that you pass. There are some other sites with same format but iwrite is one I'm familiar with. She can also do some tasks which requires writing skills while looking for the best site for her. Good luck!

If you read mine, you will see what sites I write for. They are not scams, but some only pay people in the USA.
