The article says that Fox is canceling Terra Nova because they're acquiring new shows. Although they're not planning to just let it die. They're planning to sell the show to other networks interested on producing season 2. Read source here:

I wouldn't mind if it was canceled, completely. I started watching the first couple episodes, but it was so pointlessly unbelievable, that I just didn't want to see it... maybe if the characters and stories were better, I'd get into it, but it just did not grab my attention.

You're right. The premise is good but I think it should've been better if they just made this a full movie release, instead of a television series. I bet they could've made more money doing this as a theatrical film.

Yeah, I would have totally gone to see it in the theater... the idea of people + dinosaurs is loads of fun... I just don't want to watch whole seasons of it...

I will admit that the idea of sending people into the past doesn't make historical sense since you would expect that there would have been some fossil or skeletal indication of their presence. Having other people from a resource starved future go into the past get materials makes even less sense. But hey, this was supposed to be fiction. And it was better than the giant bug or snake movies that the SyFy channel tries to pass off as science fiction.

I have heard of this show- Steven Speilberg is connected to this right, I also heard it's a very expensive show but also really good. I hope some other channel picks it up though- since some fans would be really sad if it just ended with a cliffhanger.

Yep, he's one of the people responsible for the show. I guess one reason why they're letting the show go is because it's expensive, yet the story is not that good. They should have hired better writers, or paid the current writers more to come up with better storylines.

I actually kinda like the show. I like the colony concept thing ( maybe because i am bias by the fact that i was a fan of the colony: reality show by discovery channel ). Contrast to what the other post said, i said the first few episode it's kinda interesting, but it is true, that it get boring in the middle of the season. But it start getting better again near the end of the season. Too bad i will never know what happened next :(

The show won't be totally gone. It just won't be produced by Fox anymore. You can still wait for the next season to be released in another network.
