I just watched this movie again after so many years...and have gained a better understanding of it, I even misinterpreted the ending before. The movie still looked really good although many people say it was historically inaccurate and there really was no love between Anna and the King of Siam.. Oh well, good thing there are movies to give us a story we want. Jodie Foster and Chow Yun Fat played their role well- too bad those kids who starred here don't act anymore- except for Tom Felton.

THis is a lovely movie isn't it? I like the original movie with Deborah Kerr and Yul Brennar although I am sure Jodie and Chow Yun did a good job. I like the originals not the remakes. The kids in it were very cute too. It one of my all time favorites oldies.

I haven't seen the original movie, but I do love Yul.. I can't seem to find it anywhere too. There is an animated version of it, maybe it is also nice. Why don't we check it out.

This is one of the good movies I've ever watched. Have you watch "Flowers of War"? or The Separation?...both movies are Asian Film Festival Winners. I am sure you will appreciate these movies.

Flowers of War is quite a new movie- never heard of it before though but since Christian Bale is in it, I think I'll watch it.. A Separation looks like a good movie too. Thank you for your recommendations..

Yeah, it's a collectors item for avid viewers of great films. I have seen it long time ago and it's really worth watching over and over again. I haven't thought that this was a remake, maybe Jodie and Chow's version are a bit different from the original one.

I love both these movies the new version and the classic. For once the new version did not become a flop over the classic. Have you seen Memoirs of a Geisha? that is an awesome movie to watch as well. I own that one. Very beautifully done and such a tribute into the knowledge of what a it takes to be a Geisha!

yeah..this is pretty interesting..its a classic take on "The king and i" a classic movie starring Yul Brynner as the king ..where Chow yun fat..taking the king's role here..in Anna And theking.. and ofcourse this one..without all singing and dancing like the oldies..lol movie was shot in Malaysia..doubling for Thailand..where the movie created controversy..and shooting was forbidden by the current Kingof thailand..due to its controversial sequence in the script..
