This is the first book I've read by her, and I'm currently in the middle of it. I can't say that I am enjoying it ALL that much so far (I am about 100 pages in - so no spoilers, please!). I've seen this book around and seen it on lists, online, for good chick lit authors so I decided as a change of pace from the mystery/crime novels I've been reading, I picked this up. I'm continuing to read it, but the main character (Darcy) is bugging the heck out of me. She is incredibly vain & selfish & extremely impulsive & dramatic. I don't identify with her at all so I think that's part of the reason I'm not getting into it quite as much as I do with most books who have 'better' protagonists. Now, maybe she will change during the course of the book... Maybe not. I guess only more reading will tell! Have you ever read this book? Do you agree with my take on the main character? (No spoilers, please). Do you like this author? And another thing, is this part of a series? I'm just wondering because I feel like I missed a chunk of the plot that happened before the book even started. Ideas?

I thought this sounded like a movie that I recently heard about, so I looked it up. You are reading the sequel to Emily Griffin's book, Something Borrowed. And Something Borrowed was recently turned into a movie with Kate Hudson (who played Darcy). So I guess if you wanted to skip reading the first book you could always see the movie. However, the movie got bad reviews and they said it was not as good as the book.
