without a sunblock? We are going island hopping tomorrow and I wasn't able to buy any sunblock/sunscreen... I don't really want to get darker than I already am and sunburn hurts too. What should i do?

of course to avoid sunburn is to apply sunblock first before you go to the water to swim, actually me and my sister do something to avoid sunburn and that is we will wear sleeves or jacket with hood or we will wear cup to cover our faces from heat.

Oh, that could work.. wearing long sleeves and all that cover up.. but then it'd be so hot too- i hope it'd be breezy in the beach. I thought sunblock can only make the sunburn not hurt and not actually block you from the sun.
Well, that is what i am told.

You wear light breathable cotton. Long pants and a shirt and a hat. When I was a teenager my mom told me about the acid which helps you to tan. So I brewed some teas and put it all over my body. But I fell asleep. When I woke up I was sunburned. The tea had worked for sure.

There are tan towelettes you can use if you want a little color. Covering up and wearing a hate would be good. Have a nice one.

People here in our country try their best to become white.. Since that is what's beautiful here i guess.. while in other countries people want to be tan.. it's so weird. Oh well, we'll be going to the beach this summer and i'll just look for a cotton shirt or something.1 person likes this

I think the only way you can guarantee you wont' get a sun burn is by using sunblock or sun screen. Anything with SPF. You should probably just buy some. Sun burn is no fun and definitely not good for your skin. I mean, you can try to stay in the shade all day... But if you are planning on swimming, SPF is a must!

I am sorry you could not get any sunblock or sun screen. Sunburning can be very dangerous. Use a light blouse with long sleeves and a hat. Maybe that will help although wind pproduces burns too.

Hi lady,
I've been on some seaborne operations in the sun enough to know that a long-sleeved white shirt and a wide-brimmed hat keeps the sun out even riding on an open boat. Our uniform is colored black for night ops and I should get one designed for daytime since black colors has the habit of absorbing heat making you feel more hot under the sun.
It should be porous enough for air to pass through for a cool, comfortable feeling. Don't forget to wear sunglasses too, the one made of polaroid tinted glass and not just plastic or polycarbonate, glasses tend to last longer and retain their clear, eye-enhancing properties.
