The election is just over, the candidates who contested in the election have sent many times that set by the election commissioner; so from where the money comes? All here know that the politicians are funded by the top businessmen; with the assurance that they will increase price of commodities. Edible oil that was sold at 100 rupees per liter went up to 130.00, 50kg bag of cement, jumped to 230.00 rupees, 9”x4”x2.5” bricks per 2000 increased from 7600.00 rupees to 8500.00 rupees. See the picture of 2000 bricks that was delivered on the road in front of my home; this has to be shifted to roof top where work is in progress. So does the price rise take place after elections in your place? What size of bricks you use in construction work? What is the price of edible oils, cement, bricks there? Please share your views and comment on this. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . 31/03/2012

Hello Sir, In India politicians know well, they can easily make the public fools. If the election is near then they make a people friendly budget which is meant for getting vote from people to their candidates. Once the lection is over and formed the next government they will present another budget with increased prices of each and every commodity. What can do by the public in this situation, practically nothing? It is impossible to prevent the price hike because government employees and politicians are drawing high salary then who bother about the people who live in below poverty line.

hi professor, it does not after an election in our country. but worldwide, what i know is the price of gasoline and diesel has gone really up. after that, all basic commodities will go up as well because the seller of vegies from the farms will have make adjustments so that they earn profits. ann

True! Everything seems rising..but not the salary of workers. Maybe it's a coincidence ,I'd like to think, that all basic commodities price arise. Because here in our country, Philippines, every quarter cement prices change, twice a year is the brick and fortunately the edible oil went down a bit.But at the back of my head surely the candidates and businessmen have had a give and take thus powerless people are caught in between.
