Why is that many catholics only care to attend the sunday mass if there is a special occassion? As i observed, during regular sunday masses only regular catholics attends, those who are active and those who always attend. But when there is an occassion, those who do not attend the mass regularly will attend just for the sake of such occassions like christmas, new year, and holy week and even graduations and birthdays. During this type of days, i can see people who attend masses not regularly and when these occassions ended, it seems like they don't care to attend the mass again. :) . I am not pertaining to all catholics, this is only my point of view especially to us Filipinos. I do not know why this happens. Haha. :)

A lot of people do this. Personally I am non-denominational, but I know people who consider themselves devoted to a certain religion, but only go to church on holidays like Christmas and Easter. I guess you don't have to go to church all the time to be a practicing Christian though. Some people take it more spiritually and personally, and don't take that same 'organized religion' path that a lot of people do.. If I were going to believe in God, that's how I would do it. . Hello maezee, for me being a Catholic has nothing to do with the church teachings, or how people see you in the religious organizations. it's how you use those taught principles to make you a better person, yet a true christian. unfortunately, there had been many hypocrites, now some even called them cafeteria catholics.

i think this has become a habit now already and well, people should actually just try not to think about other people's habit and culture of doing things, going to the church included. he he :D
