a long break, I think 3 weeks... They are Once upon a time and Vampire diaries- this is the second break they took. It's quite sad, just when the show is very interesting..they just love to make us wait. I hope they episodes they come back in is really worth it. I'll just watch some movies while waiting..or even rewatch the episodes.. what do you do when a show is on break?

Hi lady! I also watch Vampire Diaries! It's really disappointing to learn that they are again taking a break. I was waiting for the episode to be available at eztv last Friday but to no avail. And yeah, to think that the story was getting interesting (but kinda annoying because of the new twist). I also hope something would come up in the story that would counter the string of bad lucks that the lead characters faced and facing. I just think there are too much twists and the writers need to make something positive in favor of the lead characters. They just seem to not have the advantage. Anyway, what I do while my favorite shows are on break (aside from Vampire Diaries, Supernatural is on break, too), I just watch the other dramas that I follow. I also have tons of movies that I haven't watched so the break gives me time to watch them.

I stopped watching shows and serials long ago because once you get hooked to them then you are forced to watch them and you have to adjust everything around their timing. You can`t afford to miss even one episode because if you do then you lose the link and as you have mentioned if the serial takes a break then you are at a loss and do not know what to do.I confine myself to watching reality shows which go on for some time and stop afterwards but come back again every year. However if one stops then it is replaced with another one on another channel, so there is a sort of continuity and even if one misses one episode one really does not miss much because there is no storyline that one has to follow or remember.

Yes, True Blood is on break now too. And American Horror Story, Breaking Bad and The Gates. Lots of them are. There are alot of stuff on BIO, History, TLC, and others that are on the rest of the times. And these that I like have a marathon of atleast the last years episodes.
