Can you recommend the best and most user-friendly free post processing or editing software I can use for editing my photos? Something I could download for free.

Depending on what and how much you need to do, the following three (listed in order of complexity) all have good editing facilities: Irfanview: http://www.irfanview.com Paint.net: http://www.getpaint.net Gimp: http://www.gimp.org In fact, I use all three frequently. Irfanview is ideal for most very simple editing - cropping, resizing, simple colour balance management and effects; Paint.net has more facilities and can handle layers and Gimp has nearly all the functionality of Photoshop ... certainly all that most people ever need, and more.

Thank you for this list. I only do minimum editing on my photos but I am interested in trying to go beyond what I usually do. I've been hearing about Gimp but haven't gotten trying it. I'll look into that now. Thank you for your very informative response.

I could say that photoshop is one of the best photo processing software. If offers many effects for the sliding of photos and moreover it has the ability to insert pages and layout inside a photo. But I don't think that it is free to use. But there may be a free trial option and you can try it .
