Do you work shift work? Do you enjoy working the different shifts or just one straight shift. What are the hours of your shifts? Are they the typical 7-3, 3-11 and 11-7? Do you rotate the shifts you work or are you on one straight shift all the time. I read someplace that working shifts is like having jet lag on a constant basis.
Have you ever felt that way? What are your thoughts on this?

Yes I"m working in a shift the schedule that I been working before is 7am-7pm and 7pm -7am. At first its hard to adjust because you can sleep well because of the work schedule. But in a long run as you practice in sleeping in the morning and working in the night it is easy for you.

I work shift is an online media observer/monitoring job. For us, it's a bit different, because these shifts are made considering the news programs on TV and radio, and they are like 8-11, 12-16, 19-1... but it could really vary (yesterday I had to stay up until 3am, and I wasn't really expecting that), these are not steady deadlines or so. I like doing different shifts, because this way I can kind of make time for everything-for language courses, for my university studies, for going to the hairdresser, for going to the theatre... what I don't like about this shift thing and our job is that you can't really plan in advance, because we have a weekly arrangement session, and you have to send when you can work, but sometimes you only get 5 shifts (that's the minimum), sometimes you are made to work every 3 shifts a day... I have this 3 shifts/day for 4 days this week... I've only had 2 of these days, but I'm already turned a bit crazy...

I totally agree that shift work makes it easier to fit things in like doctors appointments, banking, hairdressers etc., even shopping. Most businesses around here operate on a day basis so if you work straight days yourself it's hard to fit appointments in. On the downside though, sometimes all your friends are out having a good time, partying, going on weekend getaways etc and you're stuck working. Guess every job has it's advantages and disadvantages eh?
