as star movies this I- Robot for consequtive third day. I left with no choice to watch some other movie. I liked that movie...there is a phrase in that movie like 'there are ghosts in machine'...
Is that possible to be a situation like that when robots conqure whole world and started destroying humans. I have no clue regarding this..

They won't allow you to be alive...
as you said, it will take decades or centuries to make such robots...

I think that will be possible, but it won't be soon since people making robots these days only do simple stuff and talk a bit, some even look human/doll. Maybe give it a few decades- especially Japan, they are very advanced and may make an intelligent robot soon.

Is it possible for robots to 'come to life' and take over the world? Well, I doubt it. I bet the day we actually have working robots, they won't really be very good at doing anything independently. It's a great fun story for fiction, but I highly doubt it'll ever be reality.
As for the whole 'ghosts in the machine' thing, I think that's true. What they were talking about in the movie were random segments of code and unprogramed computer responses to situations. At the moment, it's not the shadow of a soul as they said in the film, but rather an annoying thing that computers do right before they crash.

I actually doubt that we'll ever have walking, human-like robots available for mass purchase as Asimov imagined. We tend to build machines to do special tasks and think for us, but we still do most of the walking, talking and errand-running in the world. Even when we do build machines to do physical labor, they do not look or act like people: they are built specifically for the task they perform. So no, I don't think a robot will ever gain man-like sentience.
Much more likely that it will be a world-wide network of computers that becomes intelligent to destroy us, like Skynet or the Matrix. So don't worry. ;)
