Earlier today, I was talking about Stress Management in the my class. I asked how my students cope with stress. Some said they ate more while others ate less. There were those who sleep more and some said that they slept less. Just wondering, what do you guys do to relieve yourself off stress?

hi dear dolce_vita, for me stress has to do with my workplace most of the time. So when I feel stressed out there I tell myself, only so and so many days till next weekend so dont fret about the whole thing here. Plus I try to remember something once said to me,that is, ask yourself will I fret about this in five years from now and when the answer is no, then dont fret about it.

I think that in the end, I just try and step away from the situation that is causing me stress, to think over my options. To try and think about what exactly is really causing me stress. I do something like take a walk, as I ponder my lot in life, to really let off some steam. Because if I am stressed out, there is a chance that the situation will not be resolved. I think that a lot of the time, it is going to weigh on you, until it is done and obviously with a recurring situation, it might never be done. The best way to deal with stress is to just do and just think that you can do what you can do and you cannot really do much more. Whatever happens, will in fact happen, and we just got to roll with life sometimes.

Stress is the biggest enemy of mankind today. The type of life that one leads today one is prone to disease, illness, hypertension, high blood pressure etc. Therefore it is very necessary to get de-stressed quickly. There are many methods like laughter therapy, reading, listening to good music, meditation, deep breathing exercises, learning martial arts, going on treks, and so on.I have never suffered from stress because my basic nature is of an easygoing person and i take everything whether it is good or bad in my stride. However i have found that doing Yogic breathing exercises known as 'Pranayam' combined with deep meditation to be the best.I highly recommend this to everybody and you too can do the same to your students.

Stress eh. My first rule regarding this and most other negative influences in my life, is an old cliche, I love cliches "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" So, I avoid getting stressed in the first place, and this is a two step process for me, one is my diet, I drink a product called Limu Plus, that I get from my network marketing company, it helps the body to perform at peak, which means it responds better to different situations, and allows sleep to be more effective. The second, and this one is far more important then the first, is my mental mindset, that I have purposely developed over time, I used to get stressed quite a lot, and then I read a quote, "Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it" by Charles Swindoll. And I took it to heart, and started slowly and sometimes painfully to adjust my thought process, especially when things seem to be starting to go bad, maintain as positive an attitude as possibly, so that I can choose to react in the best possible way. And it seems to help, when it doesn't though, seems to me nothing works 100% of the time...I usually punch and throw things. Scream, and curse. But I don't really like myself afterwards for a bit. Sincerely and With Appreciation.
