Have you heard of ShootMania? If you like arena shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament, you might be interested in this. ShootMania Storm is an upcoming fast paced first person arena shooter from the makers of TrackMania. It's focused only on online play. Just like with TrackMania, you get a map editor with the game and you can design your own arenas to play on or download and use the ones that other people made. The beta became open today and you may apply for it on the official site. I just did. So far there are only 2 weapons in game (Rocket launcher and railgun) but there are gonna be more. Movement is a bit silly. You have stamina bar which is emptying when you jumping around. It's pretty simple and doesn't require much skill like movement in Quake series for example. But from what I've seen so far the game doesn't impress me much. I prefer closed arenas instead of open and movement is pretty important part of the game for me as I'm a Quake player. I'll still give it a try and the game is still in early beta so will see how it goes from here. I like the fact it has dedicated servers, LAN support and ladder rankings. What do you think?
