For Chinese, pansit or the most common for them, the noodles is for long life. I also do believe on it. In every occasion that we have, Pansit is the most common food being serve. Actually pansit is one of my favorite food, and I love it so much may it be cooked with soup or non. I could not get enough everytime I attended an occasion or eat in a restaurant if I don't have pansit on my plate, that is how serious I am when I said it is my favorite. And for Filipinos, I belive it is also one of the favorite food of all times. Do you agree with me? Happy eating. Happy mylotting.

It must be a part of the Filipino tradition too. The Chinese influence on us made us include pancit in our menu each time there is an occasion. I cannot think of any Filipino occasion that does not include pancit in the menu. There's always either pancit canton, pancit lomi, pancit lug-lug, pancit malabon, etc. pancit is always the star of any occasion, just like in our family. =D

Wow you remember all those, provinces' specialty. I am not good at that. I am only good at eating and appreciating food. Hehe! =D My favorite pancit are pancit canton and pancit luglug. What I love most about pancit luglug is the chicharon. I love my pancit luglug overloaded with chicharon.

It is true. And in every province or town perhaps has their own kind of pansit, as what you have mention, we have pancit malabon which I think is very famous in bulacan, the pansit batchoy in Bicol Region, the Pansit Luglug in Pampanga and also pansit lomi in Quezon province I think. And each recipe offers a superb taste which we always wish to have another plate of it.

Hello gin and welcome to myLot. This is a fun and interesting discussion board. I have never had or heard of pansit. I looked the recipe up on the internet and the recipe does look good. I have had rice noodles but they were called glass noodle because we think they look like glass. I have been to a number of Chinese restaurants but have never had pensit served. But then every Chinese food here has been Americanized.

Thank you so much deebomb. I hope you could have a chance visiting our place and try our Pansit or noodles. It is indeed delicious and it is the most common food being served in almost all occasions such as birthdays, fiesta, or even wedding. I think in a Chinese restaurant they have the stir fry noodles as such though not the same with our pansit here it is almost like that anyway.

Well pansit is commonly the most famous food in most occasions. From the Chinese table to the Filipino the pansit is never absent. Well perhaps this is because of the belief for long life and perhaps it is cheap to prepare. I do eat pansit from time to time.

Pansit is always found in many parties. It signifies long life. It is also the favorite token being given to doctors by their charity patients

This dish has been traditionally served in almost all of the ocassions here in our country. They said that this represents long life because of the noodles. There are also several ways to cook this. With or without sauce, fried, with soup, etc. I love to cook this food with lots of veggies.
