It was really cool. Last Friday, because Memorial Day was coming up, the St. Louis Cardinals broadcast their baseball game live to a particular regiment of troops over in Afghanistan. They invited all the miltary families to the stadium, and during the game the family members could talk live to some of the troops in that regiment. So husband got to talk to wife, son got to talk to dad, ect. But to open the game they always have someone throw out a first pitch. Since it was in honor of Memorial Day they had a girfriend of a soldier in the unit that was being shown the game, throw out the first pitch. And they got a member of the Army in uniform, to catch the first pitch. It is customary for the person who threw the pitch to then go shake the hand of the person who caught it. The woman went up to the man, he took his catcher's mask off - and it was her boyfriend! She had no idea he had arrived stateside. She ran into his arms and they hugged and hugged. Then he got down on his knees and proposed. She, of course, said yes. I thought that was really cool.
How were you proposed to? Or men, how did you propose? I think the best way a guy could propose to me is to take me to a Yankee game. I'd be so thrilled I'd probably say yes to anything. lol I would never propose to a guy though. I know some women nowadays feel free to do that, but I'm old fashioned. He'd have to propose marriage to me, not the other way around. I can't imagine how nervewracking proposing would be though!

That's awesome. I'm sure we'll be seeing it on YouTube soon. I really want to see that. I saw a really cool one recently. It was a kind of take-off on a flash mob but with a twist. The boyfriend had his brother have the girl sit in the back of the open hatch-back of a vehicle facing out. He put headphones on her with the music that the "flash mob" were going to be dancing to ("Will You Marry Me"). Then someone DROVE the car. As they drove down the road people danced in front of her, following her. More people came out of no where from the sides. There was a camera behind her so we saw what she saw, but there was also a camera mounted somewhere aimed at her face so we could see her reaction. At the end of the dance the double line-up of dancers separated and the boyfriend appeared and walked towards her and of course the car stopped and he proposed. It was so cool.
Any proposal would be cool with me as long as it's different. My two marriage proposals were a little boring and predictable. Nothing special at all.

LOL LOL I also paid. We went to the jeweller May 31st, hubby to be picked the rings and as they wanted 50 Euro from the about 600 paid at once we dug in the wallets together to meet these needs and when we picked them up June 6th I paid the rest with the bank card as my account was in better standing than my future husbands was.

Oh, if anyone got that on video, I would be crying with tears of joy for that couple..That is so cool and you are right, "What a Catch"
I like the creative ways some men think of for proposing to their girlfriends, and so far only saw one turn down, which broke my heart along with the guy's heart..:(

I didn't see the game, but I listened to a little bit of it. I heard the guy talking but I didn't realize that he had proposed as I believe I was listening when he said "fiance" etc.
Well that is very sweet, I think I'd have cried and cried and kissed him a million times over just seeing him!
I'd rather the man propose, women shouldn't be the one to propose.

That is so sweet and romantic! What a story they will have to tell their kids someday!
My husband proposed to me while we were cuddling and laying in bed. He rolled over, reached under his pillow and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes, I knew we were meant to be. Not really romantic or big but I was happy with it because it was heartfelt. Thats what mattered to me. =)

2 marriage proposals means two marriages. Not necessarily a good thing.
