Everybody likes sweets. Fructose are used much to prepare soft drinks, apple souse, jelly and baby foods. These foods and drinks are liked by all including the children. But the research workers had made alert for these foods and drinks. They said, if any one continues to eat fructose enriched foods for long time his or her brain can be affected. Memories can be lessened. But omega-3 enriched foods can protect us from these harms. The research workers of the University of California, Los angeles said, in processed foods fructose mixed corn syrup is used highly. This syrup is six times sweet than general sugar. For this reason it is dangerous for our health. There are fructose in fruits also. But antioxidant exists in fruits. So fruits are very beneficial for our health. Previous study says, fructose is liable for diabetes, over weight and liver problems. Now for the first it is learned that it is harmful for brain also.

I think it will also affect the brain because blood still goes to the brain. You are right, most of the sugar replacements in the market like syrups have more sugar compared to the regular ones.

Dear Bhanusb Fructose by itself is not bad for the health. In fact our bodies new most of th 'tose' What is important is to limit the amount taken. Sweets in such purer form can actually give fast energy as it contain high calories. To protect your child from overdoes, encourage him or her to be more active. Also ensure that that person brushes his or her teeth every time sweets are taken. OK? Thanks! Love: Bro. Joe

I believe it, I have seen and heard my brother eating so many sweets over time that it makes me sick. His brain has deteriated some and he does things that no one else would do. He's 45, and hoards things, repeats words or phrases over and over, he stays home every night and watches TV with his momma, doesn't date or seem interested inwomen at all, just oddball things like that. He has always eaten alot of junk food and hates most fruits and veggies.

Your brother has no interest in women. He has some unnatural behavior. May be this is for his food habit.

So, with those researches that come up, the best thing to do is, to have a balance diet. Too much, and too little, are both bad for us. What we need is "balance". Right combination of food, and not over-consumption of one or another.

That is scary news, but also helpful, thanks. I think i consume a lot of sweets daily.. But i thought that it could make people smarter,i saw it in a movie once. But maybe just too much of it is bad. I do try to limit eating them, but it is just hard sometimes.
