sometimes, the protagonist can just be so annoying, just taking everything the villain does. and it takes such a long time for the protagonist to feel the urge to fight back.. they are such martyrs.. do people still do that? People need to see shows where protagonists have values and a fighting spirit too.

Yes, sometimes villains acts better than the protagonist. You are right, most soaps here in our country, protagonist are martyrs and they will not fight the villains. I guess they are just promoting that revenge is not a good thing to fight. But still, it does not show the reality in life.

ha! i usually feel like that too lady1993, it seems that the villains are usually more interesting and compelling as characters than the protagonists and i could see why you lose patience with them! for instance, even in the children's film "the lion king" i liked and enjoyed the evil uncle scar's performance...and when i used to watch soap operas with my mother i liked the bad people in the show rather than the good ones...i used to wonder if this meant something bad about me...

I agree that there are several movies where the "bad guy" is my favorite character because of how well the actor played the role. There are times when the "good guy" role makes you want to see them lose in the end. The good guy needs to have a backbone.

Some of the protagonists do take revenge after.. but they usually chose love or family.. in the end.
