from Marc Marrone's show. WHy dogs eat grass and then throw up. Grass is like salad to dogs but they will eat some when their stomaches are upset. Makes them thow up and they get rid of whatever was in the stomach. Good info, huh? He is the greatest! And cats love grass. You can get a lemon grass kit and grow it. Cats love it! Great for indoor cats. Any thoughts?

I've heard this many times before. The problem is my friend's dog doesn't throw up anything after eating the grass. And imagine she eats so much grass! When we are outside with her and she founds the grass she likes, it takes her looooong minutes to get enough. Well, she seems she never gets enough.
She's a big eater and we thought she eats grass only because it's for free and she has no restrictions in eating it.

Perhaps the dog doesn't need to throw anything up. The grass settles their stomache.

Wow, this is great information!
I have several dogs and I observed some of them really eating grass in our backyard.
I feed them well but I always wonder why they still need to eat those grass.
What I know is that they eat grassjust to play with them.
Now, I know why my dogs eat grass.

yes I knew that, especially for cats. But I didn't really investigate about the lemon grass kit that is good to know.

I had thought it was a good idea but had never seen one until Marc's show.

Found out that cats eat grass like dogs because they have an upset stomach. They then throw up,too, like the dogs.

Yeah I have heard that explanation for years now, same as cats will also eat grass when there tummy is upset. I learned a lot about cats because my mother is like one of those cat ladies that hear about only not crazy! lol
One thing is for sure and that is animals must be very clever. I mean lets face it they can't talk right, so how else can they tell there humans they hurt? Animals take it upon themselves to help themselves.

My daughter might as well be a cat lady. She has three. Cats are clever. The youngest that have can open drawers amd doors. Dogs can tell if their humans are sick too. It is amazing.

Animals are pretty good at taking care of their own small woes, and to me this is amazing. I've never heard of cats liking lemon grass, does it smell like lemon? I only ask because I've always heard, and experienced cats not liking orange, lemon, or citrus smells/tastes of any kind.
Thanks for Sharing!

Thank you for sharing this, celticeagle. I knew that dogs eat grass and that they need it at times, but wasn't sure of the details of it.
I am surprised about the lemon grass for cats.
