I just have question regarding to termite inspection annually. We usually renew the service from Exterminator, the company that provide termite insurance, and they usually will come to inspect our house surroundings once a year. The annual fee is around $255, more than a couple of years ago, which I see it might be a bit expensive. They spread out those chemicals to prevent insects and termites to invade our household. But I heard people mentioned about you can do it yourself too if you go to one of those "Do - it - yourself" stores to get those chemicals. Had anyone done it themselves before, or they rather pay someone, who might be professionals to do it for you? I am on the money saving side, what is your suggestion?

Well, first I would check in your clause with your termite company. Might have just been ours, but we had been getting monthly treatments for all bugs, and yet 4 years ago we still had to tent our house because of termite damage. And no, it wasn't covered. We got a discount of course, but in all the contracts, they never agree to completely prevent any insect from inhabiting your house. Ok, now from that sad news, there are do-it yourself things but it is very time consuming and almost just as expensive as getting a tent on the house. One I have heard of is using Orange Oil extract...suppose to be a more environment friendly action, and you don't need to ship all the food, pets, and people out of the house. Longer though as I said, as you have to inject it into every corner, on every wall, of every room. If you have the time and patience, this might be the way to go. Good luck!
