I was in the hospital last Monday and was waiting for my father-in-law’s doctor to arrive. From across where I seat in the waiting lobby, there was a man with her equally big daughter, with a straw like tube inserted near his throat. He was waiting for his turn in the dialysis room. Suddenly, the tube was on the floor and the blood was oozing from where it was formerly inserted in the man’s thoiat. The nurse was frantic and keep asking why it was removed and the patient said he didn’t remove it. It just suddenly fell to the floor. I felt like fainting seeing those blood on his shirt. My flesh were as if quivering. I have to walk far and look out of the window.

Aw, I was use to feel that way whenever I saw blood. But lately I think I am brave enough to deal with those gross picture. My son is an amateur cameraman for our local quick action team/rescue team and he always show me picture of blood and everything. just recently, there was a shoot-out near our area and my son was informed to come for news scoop. Duh..I have tons of photos on my other laptop right now. Before, I can't stand looking at those photos- but now it's a usual view for me.

With pictures, Jaiho , i can still take it without a problem. But seeing the actual blood, i feel like fainting. I have to smell my white flower, while looking out of the window.

When i know that there's accident that i might pass by, i would go the other way, Jaiho. I don't like seeing them, Jaiho, because i don't like the bad feeling i feel.

Oh, that poor man! Was he okay? Were they able to provide him with the care that he needed? I sure do hope that he is okay. And his poor daughter, too.

hi no fainting at the sight no upsets you are the only person who has worried about the poor man who was bleeding my G od what a bunch of selfish wimpish people to only think of themselves.Even if I was a bit squeamish I would still want to see the man cared for and the bleeding stopped.

Yes, Page Turner, as i have mentioned the nurse asked him, if he removed the tube. He was attended to right away. That's right Hatley. Even if i am afraid of the blood and feels like fainting, if i see that he needs help, i would not hesitate to call the nurse to attend to him at once. I don't mind fainting after that.

Dear friend, I hope you are better now...I used to faint when I was kid. Once I had been with my mother's sister in hospital where she was taken blood from her body for test. I saw this and just fainted and when I opened my eyes later I was on a hospital bed. But later I had seen lots of blood saints and bloods but never fainted. That part you in hospital could just make also disturbed. Hope you are fine now...

Actually, i am really afraid of seeing lots of blood, shamrack. So, whenever i see an accident, i don't want to see those that are bloodied. It's a good thing, i always have a white flower oil in my bag . Makes my dizziness go away.

I really don't know what happened because when i saw him first, he was just sitting across the bench with that tube in his throat. Then , my attention of course wanders and when i turn to him again, i saw him being attended already by a nurse and his white shirt was filled with blood ! I have to see where it came from and realized it's from that tube that fell on the floor, as the nurse have stated. Maybe it was loosely inserted so it fell. But i immediately walked away to take my mind off that sight, lest i will really faint, because my flesh is already quivering and my knees were seemingly weak .

Some people cannot stand seeing the blood. To them, blood makes them dizzy and there are a few who faint as soon as they see the blood.

Did you ever consult a doctor about it?

No, i am like that when i see lots of blood. I am a very nervous person that's why, my friend. But after that, i am okay again as long as i don't see them anymore.

I don't actually faint whenever i see blood oozing from a person. I just feel like fainting because my head seems reeling. I still can control myself from fainting, once i smelled my "white flower" oil.

Good you did not faint, otherwise you will brought to emergency room! Lol! just joking. Maybe the tube was not properly anchored that is why it suddenly fell down on the floor.

I think so too, that it was loosely placed in his throat. And of course he has to move once in a while, so that happened. You are correct, had i fainted, i would have been brought to the emergency room.

Yes I agree it could be terrifying looking at that. Imagine doctors and nurses who have to look stuff like that all the time.

Yes, winterose. That's why, for one to be a good nurse or doctor, she/he should not be afraid of seeing so much blood on people.

Oh, I will feel the same way too. I have also fear seeing blood. I remember when I saw my fingers cut and blood came out, I almost faint.

Oh yes, whenever i cut my finger accidentally too , i would immediately apply pressure and wash and put a gauze so it will not keep on oozing out blood. I think we are one of those people who really cannot be nurses in our lives ever.

I felt that too when I am a nursing student because my first patient has a gunshot wound at the back where the bullet hit the lungs which cause lots of blood lost and became to messy. I thought I am gonna loss my consciousness that time but our preceptor asked me to be strong because that was only a minor scenario. After a few months i've been in the hospital I get used to it.

Well, bhebelen, if i were you, i wouldn't take nursing, if you feel the same way as me when you see blood oozing down. Luckily, my daughter didn't take after me. She has already even dissected the head of a cadaver, as part of their subject in their first year in medicine.

Yes, i was alright because i walked away from that and go near a window , smelled my "white flower" ointment and gazed out . It's really a good thing that i would always have my "white flower" ointment in my bag.
