Driving Across Canada

Lake Louise - Lake Louise, Banff, Alberta
It was mid June and overcast when we decided to pack the car and head to Lake Louise! We had just moved to Alberta and had never seen the vastness of the Rocky Mountains! Despite the cooler temperatures, we were in complete awe!

I am wondering if anyone has ever driven across Canada, or part of it? How did you feel about the drive and the scenery? We drove back to Ontario from Alberta after being out there for 6 years. We took our time (5 days) and tried to enjoy as much of Canada as we could. It made me think about what a beautiful country we have, and how much it has to offer, and yet when we think of vacations, we rarely think of going somewhere in Canada. We may not have palm trees, but we have beautiful beaches!! Could this reason be because of the cost of travel within our own country? To me it seems a little expensive to fly within Canada. It's cheaper to go into the United States and fly back IN to Canada..... Love to hear your opinions!!

my co-worker drove from Calgary to Ontario and enjoyed it but he ended up coming through the US a bit just because it saved him some time. as for me, i have driven (with my parents) from where we are in Ontario to the east coast and loved it!

It does save ALOT of time (saves days!!) to come up through the States, but I didn't want to get a passport for that, and we figured it was a great learning experience for our son!! We have a Beautiful Country!! The East Coast is my next trip!! Thanks!!!!
