He keeps peeing outside his litter pan?

Marco has been going right beside his pan. He sometimes uses his pan, but lately been going beside it. I was thinking maybe the pan isn't big enough and was considering getting a bigger pan. I scoop the dirty shavings into the pan, so it smells so he would go in it. Even cleaning it he still goes iutside the pan, I might try using vinegar and water so it smells so he won't use that spot.

Why don't you get him a cage it would confine him only one place than you would have peace of mind. For our bunny we have a cage and it works fine. We let her exercise outside of it some and than she goes back in it when she is done to exercise as simple as that, yes put news-papers on the floor and she does it there as mouch as possible and we are watching her so she doesn't go hide to do it, because bunnies likes to hide to do their to do, so they are nice though, have fun.

He does have a cage and pan inside. He comes out everyday and bring him outside in the pen to play as well. I got him a bigger litter pan and it seems to be helping a lot.

Oh Ricki, I'm sorry to hear this. This can be aggravating. I know cats do this too sometimes. I wonder if it has to do with raging hormones... your rabbit might need to be fixed to stop hormone fluctuations and to stop your rabbit from peeing. He might be marking territory looking for a girl to mate with? I have no clue but that's my guess.

He is fixed and has for a few years (at least that's what the shelter said). I was creepishly watching go I think its nltoo small he gets in to go just misses the box. I may try a bigger one and see how it works. Ill wash the area around it with vinegar they don't like that smell.

it might because he has a new cage sometimes animals are very picky about their surroundings.

Hi, Yes, I think changing the scent is a good way to break him of his habit of not going in the pan.

I may buy a bigger pan on Sunday when I go to the store. But also change the type of litter. I don't want him to have this bad habbit.

Our rabbit needed a bigger pan because of the same reason. He only pees in the pan now. He does poo though sometimes out of the pan, but not a real lot and not a big deal to clean.
