Spanking Children - Right or Wrong?

I believe spanking is acceptable as long as it is not done in the heat of the moment, but when the parent is calm and the child can understand action and consequence.

i don't like to spank. but if i have to i give a little tap on the arm. i try not to be too rough with my hand, but more with my voice.

It is wrong to spank the children this should be used only as a last solution if there is no other alternative

well it depends that how children do it.

nowadays its wrong. but It never hurt me and I spanked my kids when they were growing up. I don't like this time out stuff. It doesn't help. a pop on the bottom sure does though. I know I never did whatever I did to deserve the spanking again. I Think it made me a better person. Kids today get away with just to much stuff because they know you can't touch them because everything is child abuse these days.

I think they need that in there lives. If I wasnt spanked as a kid I would be so much more bad than I am!! I think it straightens kids out a little bit, and you better beleive if I have kids and there bad they will get spanked as well!!!

Spanking is OK but only as a last resort. Parents should try other methods first and only do this if they have their temper under control.

Once in a while I would but in a controled way. Their delicate bodies could be injured if we over do it. But in most times, I talk to them 'til they cry and realize they're wrong.

When my daughter was young she would get a tap on the hand. Once she got bigger and that no longer was appropriate, I switched to the butt. However, my daughter rarely defied me. I would give her 3 chances. Each time she persisted with the same wrong behavior I would explain why and how she was in error and it was not allowed. Once she reached that 3rd time she received a butt slap. Not a beating by no means. There were more times than none when I yelled. I always felt that if my discipline ever affected her later in life, it would be because I yelled. Nothing with physical or emotional scarring

spanking children wrong..

I believe in spanking. That is how my husband and I were brought up and we turned out okay. It seems like more children are spoiled and getting away with everything now a days.
