I think 2 years ago I created a discussion about Lonesome George, He is a Galapagos Pinto tortoise and he is the last of his species, the last of his kind, Once in 2 months, I always try to search updates about him, I know they were trying to make him mate with female tortoises of other species to save his dna. He died last June 25 and he is 100 years old. I hope they saved his spermcells , Just in case they luckily found a female of his species. Its sad that the effort of saving his species failed.

It's sad to think that species are dying out and becoming extinct. I guess it's just the process of mother nature, it happened to a lot of other creatures too. But it definitely hits home when we're around to hear about a whole species becoming extinct. I wish there was more we could do to help prevent more species from dying out

wanna know why this species gone extinct? Humans dont poach or hunting this turtle but it is still human's fault, during 1958, someone thinks its a good idea to introduce goats to the Island, Guess what, Those damn goats invaded the island and Pinta tortoises are vegans, so yeah the goats makes them die of starvation, they stepped on their eggs too,. I am going to eat goat meat to day, I need to avenge George,

haha Yes!! Let the goats know who they'll have to deal with if they continue to make species go extinct But on a more serious note, it's sad that a lot of times it's our fault that species go extinct. There really should be more awareness of the harm we cause. All too often humans do something they think is totally harmless and in reality it affects the balance of nature. I wish more people would care about stuff like this. There should be PSA's about this, kind of like the really sad ASPCA commercial with that heart wrenching song, or like the commercial about the polar bears where they're stranded on a piece of ice just floating around. Things like that really get peoples' attention and make them feel bad and they start to care about the environment.

These turtles have no known predators, so they were so gentle and not territorial, apparently goats are territorial, I dont know why someone decided to raise goats in that Island then abandon them and let them invade it. I also remember the Tasmanian Tiger, British settlers in Australia thought this poor animal is killing their sheep herd, so they exterminated all of them in just 15 years. Guess what, Tasmanian tiger only kills small animals, the one that kills the sheep are their pet dogs., I guess i will eat lamb too.
