Lithium Battery or Alkaline Battery

I am planning to have a bridge camera before the end of the year. I searched for the models and other features. I saw this two new model of bridge cam. They have almost the same features but slightly differ angle range and price (about $5-10). The other with a wider angle uses rechargeable aklaline battery while the other one uses lithium-ion. Which do you think is the better one between the two, the alkaline or the lithium one? What is the real difference why some digicam uses aklaline and some uses lithium ion one? Please share your thoughts for me to decide which is better to purchase. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Alkaline cells are not suitable for heavy duty uses, aside they lose power easily at the most inconvenient time. It could damage the unit sensitive to under voltage. Lithium-ion cells are designed to last longer and have more robust construction for heavy duty purposes.

Thanks for this idea. By the way, I have already choses a digicam to buy which uses lithium-ion battery. I just hope I can have it by the end of the year.
