New Planet names

NASA and other Space agencies by far discovered over 700 extra solar planets and they also discovered some new dwarf planets and moons. Our local Solar system have its planets, minor planets and moons are named after Roman Mythology Gods and Godesses, with the exception of the 2 outcast dwarf planets MakeMake which is named after the God of Easter Island and Sedna which is the Godess of the Ocean for Eskimos.
Now to my rant:
The planets in the other solar systems though, Have ridiculous names , Like Gliese 581 C, Wasp 44,Kepler 21 B, HD 209458 and more ridicolous names.
Why dont they just gave those planets proper names that is easy to remember. I like the Idea of naming the planets after Gods of a certain mythology, They should have used those ideas instead of these confusing names they decided to use, They can name planets after some great historical people as well.
There are so many ways they can name a planet and they decided to use this alpha numeric crap that reminds me of the awful capthchas.

Kepler and Gliese were famous astronomers, and WASP is a planet detection system based at the university of Leicester in UK. Do you want an "AlbertWhisker" planet ? You should create an "International Planet Registry" like the "International Star Registry" -- here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Star_Registry --. Indeed it will be nothing official, but maybe the beginning of an interesting business

I wont mind if there is a single planet named Kepler or a single planet named Gliese, But they make Multiple Keplers and Glieses with numbers and random letters. These are example of Gliese planets, Gliese 581a , Gliese 581 b, Gliese 581 c...
Now you get what I mean. It would have been better if we will just have a theme for every solar system. Like how our solar system named its heavenly bodies out of Roman Gods. So each planet in our solar system have memorable names and doesnt have those numbers.

Once they run out of Gods, They can still have a theme for every solar system that they can name after. They can have a solar system where planets will be named after Elizabeth Taylor's ex husbands.
or a solar system where planets will be named after fruits and vegetables. Possibility endless. but yeah they decided to pick a single name and but numbers on it and use it for multiple planets,

Hi captain
How about cats rats mice... they sound much familiar and easy to remember (at least for me, we have enough species here on Earth and I think that would suffice for the time being)
Seriously, I dont understand why do we have to name these planets and moons... I am of the opinion that if any of these are inhabited - they would already have their names. How would we feel if they (the other inhabitants at other solar systems) named earth as $#%^*

#captain:
Of course, these naming conventions have some logic behind them, but I am sure even the people at Nasa and other Organizations that name these planets, the employees too would have a harrowing time referring to them, forget about the students and others.
I believe they have such complicated names only because the common people dont misuse them. When they would find some planet useful (maybe in terms of habitation or otherwise) they would come up with renaming it to something more simple. Like the Pluto on our solar system was originally named - 134340 Pluto and later when they included it on the solar system it was renamed as Pluto

I wont mind any type of name they will choose though the names they were picking arenot memorable. seriously a planet named L865t78857, I think they name planets for future exploration purposes. If it can be habitable, its will be a future colony, if not,it can be used for mining for resources. Planets are named just like countries are named I think.
Lets say a solar system with 9 planets is discovered,
1 of them is Mercury like, Venus like, Earth Like, Mars like, Jupiter like, Saturn Like, Uranus like, Neptune Like and Pluto like.
what will be your theme for this Solar system and what will be the name of the planets,
makes me wonder .... what those aliens named our planet.....

Thank goodness it's sensible scientists who get to name planets!

I wish the names dont have numbers.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Here's the reason:

. Without the actual naming, we would not have enough gods in any mythology to name all these new planets
.
