To repair the crack on the windshield

Today I actually pass by SAM's club to fill up some gas, since the gas price all of sudden, going back up for 20 cents. There was good deal with SAM's gas station I figure it might save me at least 10 cents per gallon. While I was filling up the gas tank, a service staff came over, and volunteer to clean up the windshield, and instantly he pointed out 2 crack on my windshield which was not noticeable. Now, the real deal is to introduce me, on the other side of the parking lot, SAM's club is doing the windshield chip repair today, if you have full coverage from your insurance, they will charge you nothing; if there is a deductible associate with it, they will charge $40. So, without consideration, I drove by and let them fix the windshield cracking spot. Although I have to spend $40 today, hopefully it will prevent the crack spot to stretch out. So, do you think that is a good deal or not?

I think that it is certainly cheaper than other places will charge for the same service. There are also some kits that are sold in most auto parts stores that you can buy and fix the chips yourself. I have never used these before so I do not know if they work well or not. I guess it is better to be safe than sorry.
