For the most part I'm a really positive person. I try to be positive even when it seems like everything is going wrong. I try to encourage others when they are happy. Sometimes though if it is numerous things happening at once I get a little discouraged but I don't try to get others down with my attitude.

I am usually an optimist too.. but there are times in my life that i lose a bit of hope. Especially in school stuff. since my life kind of revolves around school for now. So if i get low grades, i kind of get depressed, but then i try harder again.

I'm glad that you try to be optimist as well. I understand how you can get depressed when it comes to grades. It is important to get good grades since that will affect what you want to do as far as a career with college. Keep doing your best and improving like you do when you get a low grade.

Optimistic or pessimistic attitude depends on situation. No one is completely positive and completely negative. Yes having positive attitude in negative situation is more beneficial. There are situation in life when you try to be optimistic and the things are going so worse that it drives you to negative direction and everything depends on situation.

I completely agree with you. Sometimes things in life happen that cause us to get discouraged and be negative. I know I work on this when things get hard. Like particularly now, we will be moving in a month or so and we have a lot to get done. Or I should say I have a lot to get done. So I'm trying to not get down about it.

For the most part I am a full fledged pessimist. Yep. I have suffered from severe depression with panic attacks for the better part of sixty years. I live in a world of anxiety, stress and extreme moods within the family unit. Very hard to be positive and up when the people in your family have bi-polar disorder and ODD.

I'm sorry to hear that you have severe depression. Depression is a very difficult thing for a lot of people to deal with. Yeah would be hard to be positive when your thoughts are focused so much on the sad and negative thoughts.
