Link Sharing

I realize that by sharing other sites and a referral link is against the TOS here on mylot. Maybe there should be a way to help others on here that are not on your friends list to find new ways of earning without being considered spam. I know they have discussion topics under making money where others do talk of different sites. How are these not considered to be in violation of the TOS and do you also agree there should be a section dedicated to just the sharing of links? I am not one to try and violate guidelines and have inadvertently made a discussion speaking of a site I had found, without posting my link but did suggest one to view it elsewhere, if we are able to help others maybe there should be a discussion topic to share links and help others. Just an opinion and not wanting to cause a fight. What are your thoughts on this?

We already have a place to place all of our links and for free too... our PROFILE! The only thing that we cannot post in the discussion area are referral links/affiliate links/referral IDs but there is absolutely nothing that says we cannot discuss a money-making site. Indeed I have discussed many of them. If people reading your topic are intelligent and interested they will either: a) visit your profile (where you will have placed a banner to the site you are discussing or b) add you as a friend to send you a PM. The problem is that many users have absolutely no intention whatsoever of 'helping others' but their sole purpose when they share a site is for the their own personal gain in recruiting referrals

He didn't have any links in the discussion, that's the problem. He said it was on his profile and that's where I found it, the link to the website directly under his avatar. I responded to his discussion and the whole thing was removed, so I thought things had changed.

How to tell users not to pester me to view their profile? When I respond to the discussion of a particular user, all he has to tell me is: "Did you check my profile?" I do not reply then.

I know that sharing links in discussions has always been a no-no, but I thought it was ok to discuss something and then direct them to your profile for a link. I guess that changed while I was gone for a couple of years. I'm not sure what our options are now.

We can discuss about any site, and there is less suspicion if there is no referral link involved. We had many scammers in the past, trying only to get referrals with fake information and not to help others. It is not good for the reputation of a site. You can share your links in your profile page, but you are not allowed to send people to your profile in a discussion. I think it is a good system : who would check a discussion topic/interest that would become soon a spam/scam interest ?
