Why would pbs kids have games that require a webcam is my question. It sounds fishy and id contact pbs to ask them why a web cam is even needed. No you are not in the wrong at all.

Good for you. I don't think any child that age needs a webcam. Heck, I don't think teenagers need a webcam. Even good kids can get sucked into something they never intended.

You are right! Personally, I never allowed web cams in my house and yes, we did have them back when my kids were teens! They griped and pouted but if they did not personally know someone from school or other places, that person has no right to see what they look like. There are too many pedophiles out there, and worse, to take a chance.

I would feel a little odd about that too. I don't think I would allow it either. I can't imagine a game where a person had to use a webcam to play it.

No I fully agree with you. My kids are preteens and i still would not let them on a webcam. I don't care if they need it for a game or not if they can't play the game without than they don't play it. There are plenty of games out there that don't need webcams and if they need to play games they can play those ones.

No, you are not wrong. She does not need to use the webcam. In fact, playing games online is not something she needs to do; you may want to remind her that it is a privilege--one that can be revoked should she keep fussing to use the webcam.
