Does Anyone Know How to Revive A Dying Cedar Tree?

I planted 6 Emerald Cedar trees in the fall of last year. To me it seemed that I was successful in transferring the tree from the pots to the ground. When spring started this year, the trees were still very green and so my wife and I went to Home depot and got another 10 trees. I planted them all and I was very happy on the way the trees looked aligned in our property. Then summer came. I am not sure if it is the scorching heat or the fact that we do not water them frequently is the reason why the trees are dying. They are now turning brown. Some are still greenish, so I am not sure if they can still be revived. Some of my neighbors approached me and suggested the following:
1. Dig a trench around the tree and put some new top-soil
2. Use mulch
3. Water regularly
4. Use Miracle grow
Can anyone confirm which among the things listed below is necessary. I really want to save the trees because it is a waste of time, money and energy.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a water issue. I think that if you were to increase the water that you give them they might pull through I would also call home depot and see what they can tell you about the trees. I think that they have a warranty on all the trees you buy from them so if they are dying you might be able to get them replaced for free, however I would try watering them tree's need a lot of water. Here is a link that gives good directions on watering as well as care of the tree.

Hi there, yeah, most of the recommendations that I got would include watering them on a regular basis. My wife and I have been diligently watering them for quite sometime now. I am glad that God made it rain last night too so that should help. You are correct, they have a warranty as long as you keep the recipt. Although I am not sure if I need to pull-out the tree and bring it to them for proof. I hope that a photo would suffice. Hahaha! Thanks for the link and input. It is very helpful.
