I have read in the news online earlier that Amazon, an American e-commerce company, is planning to start producing smartphones. Aside from that, they have been looking into getting more applications developers. We have known Amazon to be working on consumers. However, the smartphone industry currently has a number of established key players. It is very interesting indeed how they will fare in producing their own smartphone.

I think Amazon has taken a good decision to jump in smartphone world and this is really the perfect time because today the competition among smartphones is at very taut level but i think Amazon will have to struggle hard because big players of smartphones are already present there in the market. If Amazon smartphones will have something unique that has not been seen yet in the others available then the line of being successful or popular in the smartphone business can be opened. Anyway, the most appreciable thing that is really thoughtful is Amazon has initiated the movement at the right time.

Hopefully it's a positive one for Amazon. The pressure is definitely on them to be innovative when it comes to smartphones. I mean, the trend that we mostly notice in the smartphones industry is that we see different and novel features in less than a year. That's how quickly smartphones evolve. Plus recently there's this tech war between Samsung and Apple. Verdict was that Samsung had to pay $1 Billion to Apple for the infringement. Surely this will affect also how Amazon will tackle the smartphone industry.

dear really? I mean i know amazon is starting to make their own products , as they recently started in the tablet business like the kindle fire , which never appelled to me. I wouldb't be surprised if they started in cell phones too, with their own plans. I would never buy it though.

Yes, they created Kindle. Don't know how their Smartphone business will fare. Why wouldn't you buy it, me123party? Do you already have a preference for other smartphone brands?

Actually, I have to say that this really isn't something that surprises me. As far as tablets and e-book readers go, Amazon is one of the major players in those fields and the idea of smartphones really isn't all that different from those two technologies. In addition to that, I don't think that Amazon will have a hard time finding a customer base because they do already have a very large customer base that really does trust Amazon.
